Really nice blue lace. I like the ones like that where the non-blue part is white, rather than clear. Very nice and the shape (one of my favorite shapes) is perfect for it. Your Dumorteirite is beautiful too - I love the gradual color gradation. But the chapenite is my favorite, with the lightening thingies in it. Nice set!

Beautiful, love your interpretation with the Dumorteirite. Sorry about the fracture, didn't realize that was there! (Oh and the rainforest was from somebody else I believe). That tigertail came out great too, and you've made me want to go cut my serephanite slab now!

Lol Tommy. Nevermind Tela, don't do it! (Or just try it on a scrap you don't like very much).

Yeah, edge of the wheel. I found that doing one side was easy, but reversing it for the second side was a bit trickier. You find out when you're single how many hearts there are floating around in the jewelry of the world - the world LOOOVES hearts. I'm sure they'll sell.

Also riker boxes can't get wet (in case that's a problem at your shows).

Depends what you like, and if you have a resale license you can flash at the door to get in. For rough rocks, Kino/Electric Park is probably the best, although I hear Miner's Coop is getting better. For finer stones, especially some FANTASTIC welo opals, go to Howard Johnsons, and all the hotels along that row (Pueblo for sure, Days Inn, Globex). I also found some cool stones like Anamooka matrix opal and Peruvian blue opal at 22nd Street landing a few years ago. And if you happen to like beads, well . . . you are goin got have a great time! Gem Mall and Holidome are probably the best beads venues (assuming you can get your hands on a resale certificate), but every show has tons and tons of great beads. JOGS was really fun for me, but I think I mostly got beads there. Oh, and I'll just add that I didn't even go to any of the mineral/fossil shows so can't give any advice there. Here's a chart that might be helpful. Gem show chartPrepare for awe and wonder!

Well, it is kind of a timely thread resurrection since there is now Howardite available . . . I saw quite a bit at Q this year and last year. Pricier even than 2009, but it's out there.

I found a picture jasper that had been sitting around half done for a loooong time so I finished it so riverat would have some company. However, I lost my slab and preform pics somehow so it's not a proper entry, but in the spirit of just having fun, here it is. I'm going to try to enter these to keep me posting! Rocky Butte Picture Jasper. The design was a little more pronounced before I started grinding, but well, you know what happens!
