I love it! I've seen several examples of tumbles or cabs being posted lately with the "live edge" still intact...and this is a great example of one that definitely deserved to have that edge remain! Gorgeous! Thanks Jason. Man your cabs are amazing ... finding such beauties and keeping them intact to finished cabs is no small feat. I've tumbled many with mostly lousy results but every now and then a survivor lol. I finally got my wheels running and finished some odds and ends over the weekend:

Shims? Spacers? The different sized plastic cylinders used to fit wheels to different sized arbors. Those things.
I got an expanding wheel and the 1" to 3/4" spacer fits loose on my 3/4" arbor, so I'm trying to find where to buy a replacement ... any suggestions? Google isn't cooperating. TIA

When in doubt, tumble it out. I just made that up so pay no heed The big wood turned out great and thanks a million for showing us the rest of the load, it all looked really good too and eased my fears of trying to tumble a large stone.

Day 70 - Teaser - I pulled the rocks today after 10 days in Polish(Rotary). I had given it a couple extra days above my normal rotary polish run, why not for a big rock like this. The shine looked good. Put it in Ivory soap and Borax, will pull out tomorrow after 20 hours or so. (No picture today, will have to wait until tomorrow) Really excited to see the finish.
I'm also really curious to see how the rest of the load turns out ... I have a large waterline agate I'm tempted to try, but am unsure whether to roll it with a load of throwaway stone or with good / normal rocks. Is the rest of your load getting beat to death or is it progressing fairly normally?
You've got to be feeling like a kid on Christmas eve

jasoninsd yeah I could show you the main spots at teepee, I believe the roads there open next Saturday 5/15. They close for Winter first of November i think. I'll shoot you a message next time i head that way, or if i get a wild hair and plan a trip to RR buttes or something that direction.
Yeah the Senior Center here is nice. Refinery in the back yard, not so nice, but what you gonna do.

Tim, it's nice to see you posting again! It would appear I'm looking in all the wrong places for Fairburns if you're finding eight in an outing! They are all amazingly, stunningly, breathtakingly, awe-inspiringly, enviously, remarkably gorgeous! I've been putting off going down to Fairburn...but now you're making me really want to get down there. I'm thinking I should make time later next week. Heya Jason I've never found a fairburn near Fairburn lol. Not sure these really qualify, they're from the southern edge of the hills within a couple miles of Hwy 16. I used to hunt Teepee Canyon / Sawmill Springs pretty exclusively, but since they're still closed decided to try some other spots in that general area and had decent luck. Some nice hills up Mud Springs road.
Looks like you've been finding great material around the Buffalo Gap region. I need to get out to the grasslands again, there's just so much gorgeous rock to pick through out there.

Welcome, looking forward to seeing some shiny lakers. What kind of polish are you using? I like aluminum oxide, pretty versatile and easy on the budget.

For anyone else trying to secure a paper template to copper sheet, that Elmer's School Gluestick is fantastic. The regular elmer's completely loses adhesion with the copper when it dries, but with the glue stick I can't peel off the paper if I try. Cleans up easily with water and you can just soak the piece in water for a minute for easy removal if you want to save the pattern.

The image URL seems to get changed to https: when you access the link, and that's not a secure server website (http only) so that may be the issue. Thanks for the help guys. Hi Tim, sorry for the late response and your photo troubles. Yes knave nailed it - it's actually a browser problem as I understand it - Father Google has decided to stop loading photos from non HTTPS url locations. Makes sense. I'll switch to a secure domain. Thanks again, always such a helpful bunch around here.

There is a guest Cloudinary account set up, for new photos, go to your Profile settings, “settings” tab, and enter the following. I understand this is no help for pics that are already on a different server. Will check that out thanks Knave

It worked for a minute until I refreshed, then blank again. that's weird. It shows as a broken image in your post --- doesn't even show that in my posts. I've posted bunches of pics from that same directory with no issues in the past, but I lost everything at one point and had to re-upload all the images, wondering if that might have caused some weird issue. Might try linking from a different domain and see if that's the issue.
Thanks for taking a look

I've never had issues linking to photos before, but today I can't seem to get it to work. It shows fine during message composition but when I post the message it's gone. Any known issues today? TIA No issues here with posting pix from Cloudinary or Flickr. How about posting an example of the image code you're trying to use. Same result. The link code looks ok, and again the image shows fine while composing the message. hrmmm
