All those oil baths... Got mine with the Lortone where the chain stops the motor, but doesn't really flip the switch. Same with a Frantom. Pulling the vise back restarted the saw. Fun enough experience that made me install a latching relay. Imagine you could do the same on most saws with a microswitch that the lid would activate.

How so? Please explain thanks. Chuck posted a Chrome link, basically a little piece of software (extension) listens for urls to photobucket images, when it sees one, it modifies it with one that works... and yes, it is possible that photobucket may break things down the road. Free has it's price. here's one firefox extension (there are a couple) addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-embedded-fix/?src=api here's a screen shot firefox left wo extension, Right, same page chrome w extension...

FWIW - There are extensions for both firefox & chrome that will fix the problem for end users right now.

I was guessing that your current fix is to pull down the image for the broken links, host them on your server, and edit the link in the original post on proboards? Guess I was envisioning a script to automate that process. (been a few lot of years.) I can see that running something on the proboards end would be problematic. Is Proboards is interested in providing a solution? Certainly this debacle has weakened their product considerably, maybe they just want to sell server hosting, but It still seems like they'd have an interest in fixing old broken content. Must be others out there struggling with the same problem.
(2c, you've done quite an effort, nothing negative intended in the least.)

I noticed the other day that google's cached versions and the image search still show the photobucket images... I imagine one could write a clever script to go collect 'lost' images that way. (I don't think the internet archive actually saves images) Maybe some other board has already solved this problem?

Thought about camping at Hampton Buttes area... yeah, we had planned on Eastern Or untill recently. Doesn't help that there are so many fires and it seems like half the national forests/roads are closed... Mt Jefferson, Three sisters, hwy 242, North Umpqua, hwy 138, Crater lake, Fall creek etc... Smoke is pretty bad. Need some rain! Lets hope it doesn't get worse over the weekend. Getting >30,000 folks on the few roads out of the Ochoco's would be a problem.

There are some nice desktop CNC now! For the price of 3d printers 5 years ago. I was surprised when first working with a 3D printer that, they are based of G-code as well, brought back my old (minimal) cnc days. If James could find us a diamond bit that didn't wear, we could problaby build a cnc sphere grinder...

Sounds like you got it covered... I can send you the file if you know someone with a printer, or print one for you if the other doesn't show...

Thanks Tommy for the nice box of eggs. Always fun to cut! Yellow lighting courtesy of all the fire smoke here this morning >100 degree temps were too much to dig in eastern Oregon, so this was a pleasant surprise to come home to!

Hey, Thanks,
I'll call it home field advantage - know most of the sights in your post which made me want to head over the hills... We had similar results at Hampton butte, Wegner Canyon for a trip last summer. Always fun roaming around out in eastern Oregon. Rented one of the cabins down at the cove a few years back in off season and we were the only persons down there can you imagine that usually a zoo in the summer.
Supposed to be cloudy/rainy for the eclipse over there, so tell everyone to stay away!
Cheers Rick

Interesting note about ticks on Western Fence Lizards, that I found on this site: In California, western black-legged ticks (deer ticks) are the primary carriers of Lyme disease. Very tiny nymphal deer ticks are more likely to carry the disease than adults. A protein in the blood of Western Fence Lizards kills the bacterium in these nymphal ticks when they attach themselves to a lizard and ingest the lizard's blood. This could explain why Lyme disease is less common in California than it is in some areas such as the Northeastern states, where it is epidemic.
More InfoDave that is pretty interesting, all the more reason to make a bigger rock garden. Never realized how many ticks lizards carried, couple pics - look near the ear... western Fence and aligator
