Thanks everyone. I did a little net searching and have come up with kaleidoscope agate, kaleidoscope jasper, kaleidoscope plume agate, kaleidoscope picture jasper and 1 or 2 more i can't remember?? The last 2 weeks there has been some really nice chunks on the bay. Right now a 7# 9# 11#. All have been from the same seller.

Just a question. Has anyone worked this material? Is it overated? It is absolutely beautiful! I have been trying to win a piece off the bay with no luck. The pieces i been trying to bid on are very bright and bold with lots of colors. So far i have been out bid everytime. Is it worth the 25$ to 35$ a lb. Price range it is bringing in is it limited to the amount coming out the mine. Bottom line is it worth the price it is going for?

16" is in my opinion is the best size when cutting slabs to cab not to big or to small but just right That is what i was thinking. 16" is great size for the majority of material i have.i will be picking it up tomorrow.

It's a Royal, made in Portland, Oregon. I have a 16" and work on three of them [all 16's] for a friend. Very simple and durable saw. Thank you. I have not seen it in person yet. In your experience with them what are the bad points i should look for when i look it over? I can't pass this up.

Thanks the link was very helpful. By the pictures i posted it looks like it has a drain on the front of it. The guy i may buy it from says everything is good on it the bearings. The auto feed motor . may be hard to know for sure until it is cleaned up and filled up and made to cut ?

Hello . i have a question on this saw i found on CL. It is a 16" i am not sure the brand if any one can help identify it would be great help. The guy selling it says it has a Dayton capacitor start motor. And it has auto feed. Looks to be well made. So I'm thinking it is a good saw. I currently have a 10" HP that is good for smalls and i have a 24" that is way big. So the 16" should be just right. So if anyone might know what this is it would help me out. Any help on ID would be appreciated. Thanks.

Great job and determination. And of course you need a kitchen table where else you are you going to get a work bench with chairs. From now on no spending money on impractical things like boots or cloths or even food. Until you find a cabbing machine. Pretty rocks first pretty things later.

Nice material. Are they freeform or did you cut a pattern?

Sorry i hate to complicate your new love affair of slabbing. Becareful because one day it will break your heart. I myself still new to a lot of all this. When i plugged in my saw for the first time i was hooked on the first cut. Soon i was cutting away slab after slab. And then it happened i cut a piece of petrified palm wood nice size chunk. After i cut it i wish i never did because i will never have that unique one of a kind specimen in this world ever again. coloradocliff helped me realize that. I do know there is nothing like cutting material you find yourself. You have come along way alikat218. Keep at it. I understand exactly what you mean. I have a few pieces that I will never cut, just wont bring myself to do it no matter how bad I want to see what is inside. Like my giant agate I found in northern Ca. Sits on my nightstand and even though I've been tempted, I know I'll never find another like it. When I really think about what I love about this hobby, it's the finding the material. I dont think anything beats that and the memories that go with each piece. I always tell my wife and kids. You did not find that rock it has been sitting there waiting for you to pick it up. HappyHounding!

Do not grind off to much of your finger nails or finger tips. It burns like hell.
