Looks good for Mexican roostertail to me but then roostertail is more of a description for inclusions than an actual type. The Roostertail out of Mexico is very consistent for the type of inclusion though and I reckon that's why they gave it that trade name. You can get identical patterns in the Cadys, Teanaway, Wash, Woodward, and in Rios ( lot of roostertail type patterns in Rios) just as a few examples though....Mel Thank you Mel, i see what you mean by description. After doing some more research i see the different type's of rooster tail. I came across one piece that was labeled golden sunset rooster tail. Moss agate. Said it was named for the color. The estate this piece cane out of was local belonged to a lady that inherited the collection from her mom. The auctioneer said she was a life long rockhound most of the collection looked to be self collected lots of pet wood mostly a few thunder eggs . of all the larger pieces this was the only one not pet wood.on another post where i showed a photo some one wrote woodward with a question mark. Thanks again Mel.

Nice what gauge is that wire you use? Do you use them like that or do you cut them? Didn't register the second half of question. I flatten the top and just solder on like that. If I do a open shank I will saw the wire in two, Might try to cut them and see how they look. Iam sure these ring shanks can be used as is or cut to accommodate different sizes .do you shape them on a ring mandrel? o

So glad you liked your surprise. What did you do to deserve it. You sent me some old wheels. Remember? I have yet to do anything with. Just been busy i wanted to get something to you sooner to show my appreciation. Tried to get it out before the new year. Thank you as well. The first photo is tiger iron on the left ocean jasper with beautiful pink orbs on the right. Third picture down is some rare rose bud agate. Last photo on left a piece of owyhee jasper and. Tiger eye on the left. The tiger iron is nice i like how it is kinda smeary looking should be some nice cabbs in there. And the rosebud takes a beautiful shine use it wisely it's hard to come by. Take a look at the cabbs rockjunquie made with some i sent her. Hope you and Con have a great year. Cant wait to see what you do with this stuff.
