it can be nice stuff but with it's dual hardness and cleavage; a pain. Do you work it? I only find it mixed in sillimanite from the Fraser rvr BC

this chert, is found in a local river by myself and it makes a striking lapidary material. I'ts just slightly softer than agate but takes an excellent polish and the pattern is tight enough to be usable goo.gl/photos/ybMNQN4mSTpRVUNh6

That's really cool! I like how the amethyst is like choppy water. Beautiful piece of jade, too. Thanks, If you go on FB, look up "Terry Doucette" he makes some amazing tealights out of his seam flame agate

i'm not seeing embedded images either. However your photo does look a lot more like rhodonite than before and guess what ... ... It has a perfect, prismatic cleavage, almost at right angles. So there you go! I know that it is found in the area, so apologies if we rubbed you up the wrong way and you knew all along?! But the first image just didn't look the part. [/quote] No probs, Iknow what it is and I don't mind questions anyway, I don't know a lot about a lot of things so if someone can prove me wrong or we just can't agree, that's fine :-)

If it feels good, do it. I think its great. Thanks, I sent my buddy some of the sail material and initially was just testing how it'd look and got carried away ROFL

thanks, I guess this is where it gets real BOHO; 12g house wiring, stripped, it's oxidizing nicely Yeah, I noticed the patina. I actually really love copper and how it ages. I even like the green verdigris. I did a piece one time and purposefully did a green patina with salt and ammonia (I think I remembered that right- its been a while.) it's not bad if it doesn't get on your clothes, LOL, This hasn't gotten to that point yet but eventually it might but only in the grooves where it doesn't get polished from contact

I'm sorry; I would find that annoying too, what does it do when you click the link just above the picture? I can see the images at the link. I can't see the embedded images. There's just a big minus sign where a picture should be. I wouldn't say I'm annoyed and I am sure it is not your fault. Just letting you know. The stone at the link doesn't look a whole lot like rhodonite I've seen, but it could just be the picture or lighting. There's quite a bit of it in BC, Most of BC is accreted ocean bed and islands with a lot of mineralization from sea creatures to volcanics

I like the natural look of the river tumble. Good choice for a wrap. thanks, I guess this is where it gets real BOHO; 12g house wiring, stripped, it's oxidizing nicely

I seem to have a problem viewing your images. I couldn't see the posted pic of the wire wrapped piece in the other thread, either. I'm sorry; I would find that annoying too, what does it do when you click the link just above the picture?

A creation I did when I was at a loss one day. -Shooting Star nephrite from the Fraser Rvr. -Sillimanite from the same -amethyst drusey on blue chalcedony Inspired by my FB buddy in Nova SCotia that makes boats out of flame agate and other material from the east coast goo.gl/photos/hPNPBMCNeeoerJZYA
