I draw concentric circles around what I want to be the center point of my circle, and then go very slow to shape it so that those circles disappear, one at a time, in a very uniform way. I love circles!

The Glendora Gem and Mineral Club Show was very fun. I had my first display of my work for the last nine months there: And Scott @shotgunner and Dave aDave and I met up at Point Mugu to collect some more rocks for slabbing and spheres. We saw some dolphins and a sea lion out in the water while we were collecting.

Out of all of your suggestions, I think Tela's suggestion of Belvedere Jasper looks the closest. Thanks everyone!

Whats the hardness like? Colors match Cherry Creek jasoer but its pretty soft stuff. Some of the dead camel/lahontan stuff I gave Scott has colors like that out near the surface. It's extremely hard, Tommy!

Scott told me this joke the other day:
Did you hear about the stats professor that drowned in a river? . . . . . . . . . . The average depth of the river was 3 feet. ๐

This is a new hobby for me. My daughter in New York was explaining to her friend that her mom makes cabochons. Her friend asked, "What is a cabochon?" My daughter tried to explain that I collect rocks, sometimes myself, out in the desert, and sometimes I buy them at shows. She explained, and then she cuts them and forms them into shapes and polishes them to make pendants. Her friend said, "So she plays with rocks?" And my daughter replied, "Yes! She plays with rocks!" They laughed and laughed. ๐

These aren't my favorites. I had 2 bad cabbing days and not much to show for it. I am hoping that tomorrow I will get more done. Rhodonite- I didn't realize this was getting harder to get till I went to find some more. I believe this is a shattuckite mix This was from a lump of rock that orrum sent me. If it's turquoise it was probably my second one. Polished up real nice. Parrotwing chrysocolla a dark but awesomely patterned crazy lace. I actually have big plans for this cab. small wingate agate from a saw scrap. My favorite one- sonora sunrise. I love the curve in the pattern matches the curve in the stone. cant tell this was a bad day! I love the shape of that chrysocolla!

I too was the recipient of a Baker egg from 1dave and unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of the innards before I got excited and ran for the wheels to make cabs LOL. Thank you again Dave My brain still glows when I think about the preciously too short amount time we got to spend with you and your lovely wife. Those are awesome Tommy! Beautiful cabs!!!

While on my Meet n Greet to Southern Utah. I was fortunate enough to meet a man that over the last year, I've read many papers by, through Mindat.org. I learned so much from him before I even knew he was affiliated with RTH. Much to my surprise after making the connection and signing up for this trip to meet other awesome people from this forum, I was also going to meet him!!! In our brief encounter he shared something very special with me. It's a thunderegg that the Geode Kid had given him a long time ago. You can image how precious this was to him and now me!!! I cut it yesterday. Thank You so very much 1dave for becoming part of my family and sharing so much of your precious history with little ole me!! vegasjames, Tommy, @shotgunner, jeannie, zarguy, orrum, catmandewe, captbob, jamesp, rockjunquie, fantastic5, I'm sure I left a few tags out... sorry , BAMMM Wow! I can't wait to cut ours open after seeing yours! 1dave Dave was such a generous host! Meeting him was such a special encounter!
