QT66 good upgrade choice. You can buy a 12# barrel later on if desired, same frame for 1 twelve or 2 sixes. Rock Shed sells them. Kingsley North sells them. Hayneedle sells them. Ok, was wondering that too! Sadly all three are out of stock

Hello!
Sorry if this is the wrong forum!
So after nearly 2 years of tumbling I’d like to step up from my 33B.
I can’t find one for sale other than Walmart/Amazon for almost $300.
There is one on eBay but it’s 110v only. Anyone have opinion/experience with this? What’s the voltage of the regular one?
Also Lortone themselves sell them. Do these take a long time to ship?
Thank you!

Had an open barrel while waiting for my more stubborn Jaspers to finish stage one (9 weeks as of now) Quick little tumble. 10 days in rotary with a clean-out after 5 days. Then over to the Lot-O where I did 4 days 220 with a cleanout, then 2 days each 500, 1000, and 1500 AO. Got the shine I wanted! And the raw material

We used a hammer and chisel with decent results for a long time. It takes some practice to learn where to strike the rocks so it doesn't take too much muscle. This doesn’t create fractures or issues once they start tumbling?

I may as well add this to the convo in case this the direction I end up taking-
What’s a good small tile saw that’s easy to use?

Hello! I just purchased a fairly large amount (for me) of various jaspers. I must have mis-interpreted what I was getting myself into as I received large pieces of stone- from softball sized all the way to double that size. I don't have a saw and only have a few lortone 33b's Any help is appreciiated!

Quick little tumble. 5 weeks in rotary with 60-90 and then moved to the Lot-o for 2 days each for 120, 500, 1000 and 1500. Burnished with borax. Looks nice and a color I didn’t really have in my stone collection.

Besides not getting a shine I think you needed more time in rough.
I see lots of cavities and such in the obsidian. Someone here told me when I was new to never move a single rock out of rough unless you are totally happy with the surface.
I’d go back to the start and roll them for 5-6 days, clean out then go again till they are all very smooth.
I’ve gotten Apache tears super shiny and I just left made sure they were smooth then did an extra step with 1000 between 500 and polish.
Good luck!

Thought I’d update- Wasn’t trying to get them smooth, just shiny! Actually they ended up a little too smooth than what I expected. Did- 220 for 2 days then another 2 days after a clean out 500 for 3 days Polish for 2 days I think they look great!
