Very artsy susand24224 ! I could see my musician family members wearing this. Looks like a lot of time went into it. I like all the little beads at the ends of the harp strings. Those would be like tuning knobs maybe? Iβm not familiar with harps but we have plenty of guitars here.π

How freakin' amazingly creative susand24224!! That is flat-out genius!!! Truly I'm in awe that you pulled this off! Thank you so much, Jason. I'm surprised as well! As usual, some things I wish I had done differently, but every wrap is a learning experience, except as I get older the "relearning" experiences are increasing!

Wow, Susan! It looks like that was a ton of work. Great job! BTW - thanks for the laugh with the dog biscuit dough. I needed that today. Robin, every now and then one needs to commit "wire wrap suicide" and this was the moment. The dog biscuit dough is true--I'm now catching up on everything else I should have done over the past few weeks. BTW, I DO share dog biscuit recipes.

Actually, on the real thing, they are tuned by flat rectangles under the beads (pegs) that hold them, but I couldn't figure out a way to do that without taking hours longer to cut miniscule rectangles and drill holes in them.

Well you have my vote susand24224, for even attempting that creation. That is truly amazing !!
I hope you listened to soothing Celtic music while you were playing with your harp. Nice job. Patty
Thank you, Patty--I didn't listen to any since there's a short in my CD player, but I played some. It didn't help. And I took one look at a Celtic treble cleff and chickened out and went with the standard Anglican one.

HA, susand24224 that means you actually play the harp !! Now that is pretty cool. Only sorry I can't hear you play. I'll just have to imagine it.

Alrighty ya'll, finally got mine done! This was not the find I was originally going to wrap, it was a very last minute decision when I found it at the bottom of a box. But it had such a captivating motion to it I knew I could do something cool with it! If I'm being honest, I have no idea what kind of stone it is. Maybe someone who is better at ID-ing could help me out! Anyways the story is I basically risked my life trying to get to this stone at a lake in Prescott, AZ. It was on a super slippery slope where one wrong step would have sent me sliding straight into the deep end and I am definitely not the most sure-footed of people, haha. Hope you all like it!

kate_foundlings - That piece is stunning! I love the flow of the weave as it "hugs" the piece!! I'm thinking that's a "Precipice Stone"! LOL

Susan! That is wonderful! I have to ask you... how long did it take to design it?? I couldn't have come up with that in a million years. VERY creative.

kate_foundlings That is a wonderful weave and wrap and a pretty cool stone with a treacherous story. I LOVE it! And, it hangs nicely, too. Makes a great pendant!
ETA __ I had a helluva time tagging you. I never met a cyborg before.

Thanks Diane.
I've decided that shell collecting & beach combing is much what you all love about rock hounding,
we just don't have any rocks around here, so shells & fossils is it.
But I'm waiting to see your green found rock ! Patty
I'm sure you have rocks around there, just don't know of any that are lapidary materials. I've done some beach combing when I was younger but not in a long time. It is about the hunt though so I'm sure shells and fossils are fun to hunt too. I have a couple of rocks in mind for a wrap but I've rockhouded a lot of areas in the western US and only a few had green rocks. Maybe I need to go to some more places to get some green ones (good excuse, right?).

Wonderful woven wrap kate_foundlings. I haven't tried a tumbled stone as of yet Looks difficult. Yours is quite nicely done. I really like the bead on the single wire on the front, a nice accent. Patty

Y'all, I still can't find my rock. I looked in both my jewelry boxes. I love that ugly little rock. It usually is never far from me. I used to carry it with me everywhere. I just don't know what happened to it and it's making me sad.

Sounds like a great excuse to go out rockhounding-
heck it's just spring (yesterday), not hot weather yet, the greenies are waiting, what are you waiting for ?

Nah, although I think it's a beautiful instrument--I play the violin.

rockjunquie I hope you can find it!! Looks like a lovely little stone, almost looks like it has those hand print cave paintings on it if you look closely.
