Wildshak -- the thomas range is several hundred miles wide...there are plenty of minerals in the area to fancy your imagination We can do Topaz, but I'm sure there will others interested in geodes, agates (multiple colors and varieties) jasper...etc. I'm certain you will love this place. Good luck. p.s. best way to find the place is to hit 1-15 from I-80 and go to Nephi Utah, go to the may road which says Delta and follow it until you come to highway 174 which is the intersection I posted a map of. Good luck

April 10 - 14 works for my wife and I...or at least the weekend portion of it, so unless something comes up, we will be there.
We're gonna try to get our "ancient" '78 Dodge RV up and running by then, so we can take it. It'll take alot of $$ and alot of work, but hopefully we'll be able to use it. We've had it for 3 years and its never left our driveway...lol.
We really look forward to meeting other RTH'ers and it should be alot of fun.

chinook, let me know when in May you'll be heading down. I can possibly meet you down there and show you some good spots..and give you a personal tour of my little Topaz Dig. I'll try to keep some Topaz in it for May! Steve

I had been reading the messages and looking at the pictures on RTH for a while and thinking about signing up, but this trip is what finally tipped me over the edge. If the price of gas doesn't make it impossible, we'll be there. Hopefully the ground will be dry enough by then that we can get our camp trailer off the pavement near Topaz Mt. and save driving back and forth to town. My wife and I are looking forward to meeting some fellow Rockhounders.

Wife and I want to go, but we are already soooo booked for April and May. I'm going to be visiting the Moab area May 16-21 or so. Perhaps a good post-trip report will get posted and I can get some suggestions for the jasper/agate collecting areas for a short stop during my May trip.

Aww shucks, its looking like between regular work, organizing a rally and the price of gas I'm not going to be able to make it out next month. I really wanted to, but just too much stuff is piling up and needs to get done. Hope everyone who makes it has a great trip!

Sorry to hear that Pete! Price of gasoline is causing us all stress!!!! Ozzy....do you have an idea of how many of us will be heading out??? and was the plan to try to meet in Delta Friday still a go?? We only have a few weeks before this trip and I think we need to be thinking, and making some final plans. I'm still heading out Friday evening and will stay until Sunday. Steve
