Is there a membership time limit in order to be able to post an entry? I am sort of new and have not been posting though I have been liurking quite a while before I joined. I would like to enter if I can.

Romulous I felt the same way as you did when RTH started the contest. I was only involved with rocks since the summer. In fact before I joined the forum I didn't even know wat a cab was. I never thought O would be entering a cab contest eight months after I made my first cab. Everyone here is very supportive so don't be shy. The more people that participate the more fun it will be foer everyone. So as Don says at the end of the KillerCab Contest thread, "now get cabbin"  |

Boy was I surprised when I saw a post on the forum from Romulous. Unclestu Romulous does not have a brother named Remous.but he does have a sister named Pietra. LOL
We are twins and we both have been lurking (boy do I hate that word it sounds so sinister). We have both been observing the posts as we both have a love for rocks. Anyway If you think you are going to beat me to the punch and be in the contest first Romulous that is fine. There is no prize for starting first. You only get a prize if you finish first.LOL So get ready to loose once again to your little sister LMAO ;D Rom was born 5 minutes befor me.
As you all can see there is a wee bit of sibbling rivalry between us. Though this is nothing compared to what it was like around the dinner table growing up.
Well I must say this was not the way I planned on introducing myself. I will go tomthe intro board and introduce my self like a lady LOL

Nice entries everyone. Hellen, I love how you kept the upper part (that would be usually my thing to do LOL ). Saw it minutes after you posted, but have not responded as I wanted to see what others have to say about. Stu: thanks for your persistence keeping this contest alive and breathing new life into it. In my opinion, its currently pretty much the only thread that I'm looking forward to, every time I log on. Overall the forums have gone quiet, but I love the activity on this KCC. Pietra: Are you telling us; you and your "rival" have been looking through the boards without knowing the others activity? Looking forward to all those promised cabs........ Kurt |

Helen, it looks as if this is going to be a very exciting contest this month.
Based on the comments Pietra made right out of the box it sounds as though poor old Romulous has been no stranger to having his but beat by his little sister. So I don't think you gals will need to stick together against poor old Rom. Pietra sounds like she can take care of herself just fine. However if Pietra would like to go for a piece of me you gals can bring it on like Donky Kong LOL ;D
In any event I think I will put my money on Romulous. I think old Rom is going to get more votes than Pietra. So Romulous don't let me down.

Helen, that is gorgeous! Color, shape, bites out of the top right, dent on the left... it all makes for a beautiful piece. I've taken some slabs and made cabs through the third wheel.
After I go through all the wheels, I'd like to enter a piece as that sounds fun.

Very nice Chuck!!! Helen, I'm at a loss, I can't remember what the material is?  I can tell you that I pulled the piece out of a Stones That Rock tub that I had labelled 11/2010. A lot of my smaller slabbette size pieces came from them. Maybe if MaryAnn sees this thread she can enlighten you and jog my memory, lol! Romulous and Pietra ~ WELCOME TO RTH!!!! Glad to see both of you posting and really looking forward to your cabs! We're all one big happy family anyways and now we have twins!!!! |

Hi everyone, This is all new to me that is entering your contest. I see from previous posts you have already met my twin sister Pietra. I did a Crazy Lace cab for the contest. I have a picture of the slab and the finished cab. Unfortunately Pietra in her efforts to sabatage me and delay my entry she swiped our camera before Ihad a chance to take a picture of the completed preform. Pietra evidently couldn't stand to see me enter the contest before she did. Like it even matters. So what I have is a picture of my preform that has been cut free from the rest of the slab but as I said she swiped our camera befor I had a chance to fully shape the preform. I hope for her own good that this will be acceptable for me to enter the contest. Thanks and I am sorry about all of the drama. This was the slab of crazy lace that I used for the cab  This is a picture of my preform after I cut it out of the slab and ground it a bit. I hope it is ok for the contest  The rest are some pictures of the finished cab. I wasn't sure how many pictures and of what views are required so I took a few. If there are to many it is ok to delete some        Well that is my entry and best of luck to everyone entered. Even you Pietra I have been looking at this forum as a silent observer for several months. In that time I learned a lot and enjoyed looking at all of the great pictures. I am the shy one in our family and I have been trying to work on that. My dad thought that this would be a good place for me to start but I almost changed my mind. He said that I should let everyone get to know e and it will be OK. My name is Romulous. Thank you 5/8/12 Just got a PM from unclestu. Said my hands don't look white enough more like a lobster LOL I took the picture under those big orange sho lights the kind that get so hot you can fry an egg on them? Romulous, that's an awsome cab, and an impressive beginning on the forum:). You should also post pix of your other cabs in the cab section too, we would all love to see them! I can tell by the photos with your hands in them that this wasn't your first cab (haaa... your nails are more grinder eaten than mine!).
Don't worry, everyone here loves to look at cab and rock photos, you will fit right in and feel at home quickly:).

Kurt Your days growing up in the Alps show in that beautiful winter-scape. No snow storms in Hong Kong LOL
However speaking of storms it seems as though the RTH Killer Cab contest was hit by a Hurricane the other day. A Hurricane by the name of Pietra. Boy talk about an introduction!!

Well Pietra certainly showed us all how she can talk the talk but can she walk the walk?
Romulous you definitely blew me away with that Crazy Lace.
Pietra you definitely have a very tall mountain to climb in order to be in a position to kick your twin brothers butt.
Romulous has definitely showed us all that he got game. Pietra, can you say the same?
Does it run in the family? Lets see what you got Pietra LOL ;D
