A well documented fact- between 1850 and 1890 lead vests became popular with the X-ray techs of the native American plains nations. The catalyst is believed to have been delivered by the medicine dentist O'ouchit Hur'etz, DDS* (meaning "shoots blanks now") in convincing but anecdotal correlation between covering one's testes with lead when being x-rayed (or using x-ray equipment) and the prevention of a'nukamana 'akat (translated- "wrinkeled ball"). Many such lead vests were discarded or traded when electomagnetic imaging technology made inroads into the population.

Well, lets see. Guess I'll take Helens statement first, since it's the most laughable.
<< You also forget that there are records for every single soldier. There'd be a communication blackout in 1 hour, and they'd have all secessionist state soldiers on a float to an 'emergency training exercise' at sea in 4 hours. >>
Not gonna happen Helen. First of all, the Navy no longer maintains a troop transport fleet large enough to put that many personel to sea on a " Emergency training exercise ". And, any Navy person can tell you that it takes a damned site longer than 4 hours to get a ship sitting in port underway. Sure, the newer nuke ships can be under power and ready to move in an hour. But loading all of those people, + the equipment and supplies to support them ? Try a minimum of 72 hours. (Been there, done that, several times). My first 2 ships were troop transports. APA 215, and APA 220.
As for the communications blackout ? Do you mean a cell phone blackout ? Most of the troops have them you know. To block cell phone service, the government would have more than just the secessionist states to worry about. The whole damned country runs on cell phones, including the government.
If you think for one minute that the Pentagon sat around for the last 150 years, planning for civil unrest within our own borders, you're sadly mistaken. They have much bigger fish out there to fry. At best they have a dozen people who may run these unrest problems through a computer, and play a computer war game or two, per year. And computer games are nothing like real life.

I can not believe there are people out there that are so mule headed that they do not believe that Iraq is what sucked us under and sank the ship. Have any of you checked out how much that war cost the USA? Ya'll sit your fat asses in a chair and talk about how frikin intelligent you are and how you know everything and you won't even look at what the root cause was and what some of the really intelligent people of the world are doing to try to fix it. Ya'll aren't Americans. Americans were not that mule headed. A day without learning something new is a day wasted. Jim Jim, Jim, Jim. Where shall I start ? I know who your statement was aimed at, by your last line. I, won't even bother arguing with you. Got more important things to do. So, in your own words, show me just where in anything I've said, in any conversation I've had on a computer since I've owned one, That I've "talked about how frikin intelligent you are and how you know everything". Can't do it, can you.

They don't have towers for cell phones in the middle of the ocean Don:). If they did, scrambling radio signals is easy. Ever hit a 'dead zone' when driving down the highway with your cell?
They wouldn't have to outfit a special ship, just whatever happens to be out there, they can say they need a few men, and off they go. There's at best 2-3 states that would seriously consider secession. All the other red states are fully dependent on the government in the form of Social Security, retirement checks, medicare, food stamps, housing assistance, etc (all of which would instantly stop). These states cost more than they pay the fed, and have it made. They won't go anywhere away from the cash cow that's the rest of us.
I took that out, since I really have no idea what plans the Pentagon might have to account for technology today. I love playing 'what ifs' because it's fun. But I'm thinking with this really paranoid crowd who believe everything they read, starting with 'the sky is falling!' it's absolutely not worth the time to play.

Gotta say that I'm liking the outcome more and more. There are so many issues that we need to get to the bottom of, and it is good that the administration that has the answers is still in power. Why? Because if Romney would have won the MSM would have him (preferred prey) to undermine. As it stands, very soon now the MSM will turn on Obama. Our culture loves to build up 'heroes', only to then begin to take them down. The 'winners' are now faced with several lit fuses, and I have a feeling the next few months are gonna be filled with scary vindication.

Quote Helen. <<They don't have towers for cell phones in the middle of the ocean Don:). If they did, scrambling radio signals is easy. Ever hit a 'dead zone' when driving down the highway with your cell?>>
Helen, I gave you credit for being more intelligent than that.
#1 -- First of all, it's going to take days to get that many people loaded on ships and out to the middle of the ocean.
#2 -- No, they don't have cell towers out in the ocean. They have a little thing called communication satellites. The very same satellites that our military need for navigation and communications. Shut those satellites down and you not only shut down voice communications, you shut down the entire world. You shut down power grids. You shut down oil and water supplies. You shut down routing for all trucking, train systems and shipping by sea. You shut down the military's ability to effectively move troops and supplies where they would be needed to quell civil unrest. I know your next argument. "The military has secure satellite communications". Ya, right !! Do you actually believe that whole bunches of computer geeks haven't already hacked those secure links ? Ha !!
#3 -- What are they going to do, shut down the power grid too ? There are enough people scattered around this country who still know Morse Code. Morse Code is transmitted over power lines. Hell, with a day or two of practice, I'd be up to speed on the Morse Code that I learned back in the Boy Scouts. There are also bunches of active duty and inactive Navy people who can send and read messages by semaphore flags. Low tech I know. But the Navy still uses them. An enemy cant intercept signals they can't see or hear. #4 -- I don't own a cell phone. Never have, and have no plans to get one.
#5 -- The big coastal cities are far more dependent on all of those government nanny state "benefits", than the central states are. Shut down your precious communications, and millions of city leaches will be rioting in the streets for their "benefits that are owed to them by big brother". As for us red state folks, when the shit hits the fan we tend to band together and help each other. We don't riot and loot like the big city blue state leaches do. We'll protect to the death that which is ours, but we'll help our neighbors if the need arises.
Bored now. Need more coffee. I'll play more later.

You were not singled out Don. Your by line was handy and I like it a lot. I was aiming at all the people that refuse to watch a documentary that brings out the truth about invading Iraq and the money that went down the sh-ter on the republicans watch. People that are pointing a finger at the present administration but ignoring the fact that Iraq was totally unnecessary and the biggest drain on this country since Viet Nam. People that do not want the truth because they have their head up their parties ass so far they can not make a sane judgment or even think about wanting the truth. The people that have Bush up on a pedestal and think he was the best thing since sliced bread. The people that would not spend 45 minutes watching something important but probably spent hours watching football or some trash TV shows in the last week. People that are playing the stupid game of we are going to kick your a$$, no we are going to kick your a$$, we have this and we have that.
I am proud to be an American because I am open minded and free to pick and choose what I think is right and wrong and have the sense to know that sometimes I am right and sometimes I am wrong.
Bill, do you thing that Obama is not (preferred prey) and getting undermined. Half of the people are hoping that he will fail at the cost of this country. They would rather see the whole shebang go down the crapper including themselves rather than try to compromise and help fix things.
The new American way. Screw you and us too. At least the dildo companies will survive.

Jim, your side loves to blame Bush for everything. Hell, if someone gets a hangnail, it's Bush's fault. The truth of the matter is, we invaded Iraq based on the intelligence info that we had at the time. Info I might add that came from Saudi sources. Nobody puts Bush on a pedestal, but there's not a day goes by that I don't thank God that Gore wasn't in power when the twin towers came down. We still wouldn't have done anything, and Gore would still be crying over all of the global pollution created when the towers fell. Our enemies would have been emboldened by Gores inaction, and we probably would have had several more attacks on our shores.

I do not see how you can not see that it started with Bush. I am not saying that everything has been perfect in the last four years because I would be calling myself stupid. But you have to admit that there was a hurdle to get over. Mistakes were made and sometimes we zigged when we should have zagged.
But people chopping holes in the bottom of an overloaded boat is crazy because they are going to sink with it. I really can not understand that kind of thinking and to keep from being pissed about it all the time I am just going to back away and not try any more. It is a sad day when Americans no longer try to reach a common goal like we have done most of the time in the past. We are divided and we are going to fall. How hard is difficult to say but I have figured out that trying get people to see that there were some mistakes on both sides of the fence is futile in this environment. Did you watch the documentary Don? Yea, I didn't think so. Bye

Ok ok... comon... election is over. No amount of belly aching is going to change a thing. Before the election, nothing we did, including our handfuls of votes, changed a thing.
We are just arguing for fun, because apparently, some of us just like to argue (including me), and we can't find enough people to argue with in real life.
But if people are really going to get upset with each other over our pointless arguing, maybe we should stop. Rock talk was fun too:P

As a matter of fact Jim, I just got back on line. Tried to watch your video. Thought at the very least it would be good for a laugh. Instead, it gave my computer a virus. Luckily I have good software installed. Took a while, but it tracked the virus, 2 tracking cookies and something else nasty down and removed them.
Moral to the story, I won't try opening any more pro Obama propaganda.

If you ever get a virus warning from opening a link you MUST run a comprehensive virus scanner from AT LEAST 2 different sources (because they do not all cover the same viruses).
Other possibility, tho I'd say probability, is that you have malware living in your computer right now. This is much more complex to fix, and you may not be able to automatically remove it even if detected.
If that's the case, you may want to find a local computer shop to help you reinstall Windows fresh after backing up your data, then loading a GOOD anti-virus in your system (because if you got infected in the first place, your current anti-virus is crap). Reinstalling your entire operating system every year or 2 is a good idea anyway, there's a plethora of junk files that build up in your system that lead to slowdowns and wasted space that should be cleaned out every year.
If you clean out your garage once a year, you should not be surprised your computer needs cleaning out of junk too, it's the same thing:).

www.snagfilms.com/films/title/fuelThe film FUEL that Gray linked is different from the movie that Jim linked above. This is as much as the link can be cleaned up. Without watching the whole thing, hard to tell where the differences between the 2 movies are... but the Youtube one put me to sleep in 2 minutes. I tried to link Jim's link directly for the forum, but it ONLY has a button to embed YouTube movie links, and not other movie sites. There is no virus on the site, but if you have non-defined sites blocked (like porn block), it may be flagged because it's not defined. That doesn't make it virused. Up to you if you want to watch it anyway, it's an important subject... but I have to say, it's REALLY REALLY REALLY boring to watch.

It did not give my son's or my computer any problems. I guess our computers are democrat and yours is republican.
The thing is that the video is not an Obama video. It is a video about life as we know it will not go on forever because of our energy preferences and our inability to give up anything in the short term so the human race can survive the long term. Not a problem for the people without kids and grand kids or the greedy.
Futile. Jim

Helen, I have a total of 4 good antivirus programs that I run, 1 after the other. It was Microsoft Essentials that found and removed the threats. Just finished running defrag. Gonna go back through and check each program for any hidden nasty stuff. This may take a while.
I have AVG 2013 running in the background whenever I'm online.

Life as we know it won't go on forever anyway. It's a little thing called evolution. Come back in a thousand years and humans will be barely recognizable. Hell, the kids of today are barely recognizable from the kids we grew up with. We didn't have hardware sprouting from all parts of our bodies.
