*LOL* Helen: The "good" guys won only in the minds of a bit more than 50% of the country and heck they're all idiots *L*. If the nation survives four more years of these folks in office, it will be interesting if the problems are still worse next election. The other half don't see your side as being all that good *L*. If the POTUS solves our problems and keeps his promises, hell, I may even vote Democrat because I believe in folks who solve problems and make things better. If it goes the way I think it's gonna go, I'll be laughing at you and your gang of goofs but we'll all be in deep doody so I'll be cryin for the nation. I would sure not want to be in the POTUS's shoes if things go the way I think they'll go. How's that saying go. something about being cursed to live in interesting times. Interesting times a' comin I think *L*....Mel

Election is in 2 years for the WHOLE Congressional House again... if they pull the same poop, they're getting tossed.
No one anywhere claimed it was 'all good'. We had a GIGANTIC MESS to clean up, and everyone knows it takes longer to clean than to make a mess. Well, 8 years of mess isn't getting cleaned in 4 years. Romney tried to tell everyone that he'd have the deficit fixed in 2040. Just think about that the next time you get ready to complain about Obama having not ALREADY fixed the mess in 4 years.
We've been kicking cans down the road for decades... it's not even going to get fixed in 4 years. The difference is, someone is prepared to make an effort, which is better than creating a BIGGER mess in the form of more tax cuts with lowered revenue.
I'm just happy that the lying cheating wall street job outsourcing CROOK lost.

You mean he's back from vacation already? Yup, better send him on another. He doesn't do a damned bit of good when he's not on vacation.

He didn't go on vacation, he went on a state visit.
I think the poor guy got 58 days of vacation in 4 years, and he works 7 days a week.

Obama's had the lowest spending since Eisenhower. The reason the deficit kept rising are because of the HUGE BACKLOG of debt Bush dumped on us from the war: www.forbes.com/sites/rickungar/2012/05/24/who-is-the-smallest-government-spender-since-eisenhower-would-you-believe-its-barack-obama/Who Is The Smallest Government Spender Since Eisenhower? Would You Believe It's Barack Obama? It’s enough to make even the most ardent Obama cynic scratch his head in confusion.
Amidst all the cries of Barack Obama being the most prolific big government spender the nation has ever suffered, Marketwatch is reporting that our president has actually been tighter with a buck than any United States president since Dwight D. Eisenhower.
Who knew?
Check out the chart –
So, how have the Republicans managed to persuade Americans to buy into the whole “Obama as big spender” narrative?

From FactCheck, you know, the site you guys liked to cite so much during the Campaign: www.factcheck.org/2012/06/obamas-spending-inferno-or-not/Summary Is President Obama’s spending an “inferno,” as Mitt Romney claims, or a binge that “never happened” as an analysis touted by the White House concluded? We judge that both of those claims are wrong on the facts.
The truth is that the nearly 18 percent spike in spending in fiscal 2009 — for which the president is sometimes blamed entirely — was mostly due to appropriations and policies that were already in place when Obama took office.
That includes spending for the bank bailout legislation approved by President Bush. Annual increases in amounts actually spent since fiscal 2009 have been relatively modest. In fact, spending for the first seven months of the current fiscal year is running slightly below the same period last year, and below projections.

Need to bury that lie you keep spouting about Obama spending MORE. The deficit increased from our interest and costs incurred before. Name another war in the US that taxes was NOT raised to pay for. You can't think of 1 because there haven't been any til Bush's 2.

BS Helen. In your pretty little chart, do the numbers in front of the graph indicate October 13 ? Which year would that be?

Quote Helen. <<The truth is that the nearly 18 percent spike in spending in fiscal 2009 — for which the president is sometimes blamed entirely — was mostly due to appropriations and policies that were already in place when Obama took office. >>
What that fails to indicate is the fact that the Dems had control of both the house and the senate for 2 full years before Barry took office. Wonder who's fault that spike was ? Hmmmmm.

It's based on the budget for Obama's full term, which ends Jan 20, 2013, whoever got voted into office. That's when the 'new' budget takes place, the one they're fighting about now? We're still working on the old unpassed budget from last year, where the bi-partisan commission could not come up with an agreement.

A doctor from France says: "In France , the medicine is so advanced that we cut off a man's testicles; we put them into another man, and in 6 weeks he is looking for work." The German doctor comments: "That's nothing, in Germany we take part of the brain out of a person; we put it into another person's head, and in 4 weeks he is looking for work." A Russian doctor says: "That's nothing either. In Russia we take out half of the heart from a person; we put it into another person's chest, and in 2 weeks he is looking for work." The U.S. doctor answers immediately: "That's nothing my colleagues, you are way behind us.... in the USA , about 4 years ago, we grabbed a person from Kenya with no brains, no heart, and no balls.... we made him President of the United States, and now....... the whole damn country is looking for work.

Here's the congressional calendar that spans the timeframe: www.thepragmaticpundit.com/p/congressional-calender.htmlDemocrats had a 60 seat majority from September 24, 2009 thru February 4, 2010. 4 months; not 2 years, and 54 DAYS with the Democratic House in session. Democrats lost their 60 seat majority when Republican Scott Brown of Massachusetts was sworn into office in February of 2010.
