Am I missing where the rocks for trade are shown? I quickly skimmed through the video (with the sound off) and only saw images of some paintings - no rocks. I think she's trying to offer for trade the paintings that can be seen on the walls of her "virtual" rock shop in the video. It's a very odd way to offer things for trade or sale in my opinion.

OJHoff- WELCOME to the RTH forum- Believe it or not, there are alot of nice folks on this forum- They're not all Trump supporters (though quite a few}. I enjoyed your video and Facebook page, and noticed you've been a member for a few years, though not very active, and who can blame you, if you were received as despicably as you have been now. IMHO,"The Welcome Wagon" folks need to come down off their little high horse and grab a gulp of kindness prior to chasing people away. And that unwritten rule- F'*** 'em if they can't take a joke.

Again, I say Alice in Wonderland. How is anyone to know about some unwritten rule? How many other unwritten and unguessable rules are there? I am only rude if people attack me and I WILL answer back. I was telling my sibling about this exchange and he said, that sounds like some of the ornery cusses who used to stop in at Grandpa's rock shop when we were kids. Then he asked, who are these people anyway? To suggest a person is a scammer when they haven't done anything yet borders on libelous, but it's just a rockhound forum so it's not that big a deal. Also, making 100 inane posts just to fill a quota might be considered SPAM by some people.

There is some history here with some people being rip offs, so I think the reaction is to be skeptical. And, yes, you do have a point about 100 inane posts.

I'm not defending the quality of the post - the video was a tough watch - but it still didn't take me more than a few minutes to find the paintings through her signature link. What I AM defending is her right and everyone else's right as a member of the board to post it. You can't enforce rules that don't exist - there is NO posted 100 post minimum rule or guideline, nor is there a posted guideline or stickied post about new members needing to hang around and joining in the festivities before they can try to sell something. If I'm wrong about this please direct me to it. A system wherein the only way a person can find out about a rule is by breaking it, is flawed and confrontational.

This "rule" has been discussed many times online but it is not anywhere I have seen saying read this before posting or something. People can be nicer about how they respond such as nicely telling people that they may want to let people get to know them first before posting sales or trades. Or if they don't like it just don't respond. We are all adults and know what the risks are of buying or trading with someone we don't know.

If there is no such rule, there needs to be. It isn't safe to click on links from unknown individuals. I recently clicked on a link where a person had posted items I owned and claiming they were selling them... I know they don't have the items, since I have them, just wanted to know what was going on.
What was going on is this person had a scam web page set up that locks up your computer and tells you to phone a number to get it unlocked. This is not a rare scam, it's a growing one. If anyone can post links on your site, your site IS going to get targeted sooner or later.
I gather this person wants me to follow a link to their website or video even though they're not willing to post any photos here. No. That is just not a reasonable request this time of century.
I'm not clicking any more links from unknowns, and I think it's insanity that they're still allowed to be posted in people's comment threads & forums in 2016. Somebody's going to get badly hurt sooner or later. If it's a trade and there's no need for money anyway, what is the big hurry?

?? I'm thinking about leaving this forum for good. Never in my life have I been under suspicion so many times without having done anything wrong. pssst. Olivia. You need to dig around the forum to figure out the belief system of the owner and regular posters. Once you post a few that go along with the general sediments of the forum, you will be given the ol " you'll fit in nicely". Other than that is best to keep quiet and only talk about the pretty rocks on display. I love rocks but have given this forum the nick name " rock tumbling with a side of hate". Have not been here long but have witnessed posters bullied off the entire site. Ok back to my corner. P.s. Your artwork is very nice!
