Is that an OSH bucket in your avatar? Are you from the Bay Area by any chance? I will guess 3047 miles even though that will be way off if you never left the West. Very nice pendent btw!

Post #7 - final post - get your guesses in. We have no more new pictures to share other than the one borrowed from the internet below. As I alluded to in my last update I had a brilliant idea that didn't work out so well and turned our last night of camping on the road into a bit of a nightmare. We left Scottsdale with the idea of stopping one more time maybe somewhere in the vicinity of the Grapevine or hwy 5 and make a final push home on Sunday morning. Somewhere along the way I talked us into heading over to the coast to escape the heat. After horrible traffic through the LA area we reached the coast in the early evening and discovered that everyone else in the region had the same idea - no doubt due to the 100+ degree heat. This is a borrowed photo from the internet but it's exactly what we ran into if not worse:  After losing all hope of finding a place we continued north and searched, and searched, and searched for a place to stop. After getting creeped out at a Walmart, and run out of a Kmart, and getting bad vibes off of every other place we thought about stopping, we finally found a dark industrial park around 11pm after 13 hours on the road - with three hours left to drive. We could have been home in 12 hours flat if we hadn't taken my detour to the coast haha. All in all it was such a fun trip - so enjoyable and so many new places seen and things done. Thanks for playing along. I thought there would have been a lot more participation given the fact that people here seem to love a "guess the mileage" game but maybe I made it too convoluted haha. Thank you to everyone who gave it a shot. Please take your final guesses - everyone is welcome to guess even if you haven't joined in yet. I enjoyed your picture trip except for the traffic on the final leg. Reminds me of going from La to Vegas 15 years ago. My final guess is 1795 miles.
