Put me down for a large FRB of that sweet Georgia sand free clay once you get your sifting/separation method worked out.

I think you should try using your washing machine. Fill with water, add clay, run on spin cycle.
No idea what this would accomplish, but just think how impressed your wife will be with your clever experimentation.

That's a beautiful image. Did you take it? Me and Cliff at 17 years old were minding our business walking thru a construction site apparently trespassing. Doing nothing wrong other than trespassing. Two police cars pulled up and told us to freeze. Being kids we decided to run for the fun of a chase. We set off into a low 'field'. One of the police was way faster than we expected. We were gaining ground on him though. Well, this 'field' was a dried lake bottom with thick 2 foot tall weed cover. Must have had 5 feet of mud silt dried out. Looked just like the photo above except the cracks were like 18 inches wide 5' deep and the chunks were 4-5 feet across. We both stepped into those hidden cracks at full tilt and liked to snapped our legs at the knees. Recovered and fell into them again not 20 feet further. Again and again. The ultimate human trap. Needless to say we were apprehended and carried home to explain our behavior to the parents. Photo from images. Common sight around here though. Silt prevention is big business in these parts. A beautiful rocky creek can be covered in several feet of red silt from a single construction project. The Chattahoochee River has 20 foot tall banks of pure silt. Silt has put it on the top 10 most polluted rivers in the country. The silt choked out the trunks of the trees protecting it's banks by choking them to death. Now it has severe river bank erosion. Stays muddy most of the time. Catfish about the only fish that can stay healthy.

Police dude actually had a good time. He was proud of himself. Raising cane about his shiny black street shoes though. Had he had tennis shoes he would have passed us sitting still, dude was fast.

The only time I ran from cops it wasn't even close. I was up a tree onto a roof across the roof and into another tree to a block wall all moving farther from the street, not along it. Finally after running along the top of a block wall for 100+ yards. I hit the dirt in a vacant lot, ran across lot to sidewalk and then simply started leisurely skateboarding like nothing happened. ended up at home having already caught my breath. No clue how long the cops kept up the chase. As the crow flies I only went a half mile or so. We were skateboarding in a swimming pool of an abandoned house... My buddy went the other way and got home safe too! Lol

Thanks for passing this on rockbiter. Switching to silicon carbide 4-8-16 ate those PVC barrels in a jiffy. The HPDE is the way to go. And way easier to build if you only master the weld. practice on short sections of pipe first. Took me 2 practice runs and had it down. I have done about 15 full circumference welds since. Need to figure out how to weld a flat plate to a pipe to save buying an end cap. Tricky to do on a flat teflon skillet.

I was frustrated when I started collecting supplies to make pvc barrels only to then find out there was a better way to go. Still some good info here so I don't think it should be unstickied, but perhaps updated.
