Searched for reviews on the StoneTes hand faceter... found this forum discussion.
(Actually the Stontes discussion was on a different forum I just noticed -- it was the discussion on the general topic of faceting machines that I found on this site)

I bought a couple of pieces from a dealer at the Tucson show and we chatted a bit, although his English wasn't very fluent. He suggested I look up Rock Tumbling Hobby on the web. That was about 8 years ago...

I got to this forum via "Tumbler" Tom Kuzia's page "Rotary versus Vibrating Rock Polishing" and he has a link. So Yeah for Tumbler Tom! So . . . I guess you can tell I'm a shaker and not a roller. Most of the rocks I find have already been rolled quite a bit in Lake Superior so the vibratory polisher that I jut received as a gift will do most of what I need.

Let us know how you found our little community on the web. You can explain your answer in the comments. This is an open ended poll. If you are new please consider answering it. Googled the question "how long does tumbling obsidian on 500 take?" One of the sites that showed responses was this one.

I’m new at this and am looking for family safe safe rock polishing methods — that’s how I ended up here. I have a rotary tumbler and like the idea of using a vibrating bowl tumbler — so research brought me here. I’m going to spend some time snooping around to see what other people are doing. I can tell you already, I am addicted to river rock — you never know what you’ll find in river rock. Looking forward to learning — Thanks, peeps! 🌸
