I’d been serious about rock tumbling for a year and wanted to find an online community to share and learn more, much like the RC forum I’ve been on for several years. I stuck around because it feels rather like home here. Many thanks to all and especially to jasoninsd. His warm welcome and big box of Prarie agates made my day!

I've searched online (usually Google) a number of times for info on various aspects of rock tumbling. This forum always seems to have answers - and always the best answers when several possibilities are available from multiple sources.

If you need something answered...and you can't find the answer in the search function (or Google!), don't hesitate to ask. There's a lot of members who readily give very sound advice...and one in particular that might give you a comical-smart-aleck type answer!

I decided I wanted to get back into rock tumbling... Went out & bought the Nat Geo Pro tumbler, then started looking up youtube video's.... I found the Petosky stones quite fascinating, & then found my way here via Rob from the Michigan Rocks Youtube channel.

me, an individual who enjoys rock based hobbies, was on amazon prime video looking at roadhouse the new one with jake gylenhall then we went to look at the old one with patrick swayze (what a stud), from 1989 (great movie), and it had sam elliot in it (great moustache) from there, we saw on his wikipedia page that he was in movie called "The man who killed H*tler and Then the bigfoot", gonna watch that sometime next week! afterwards, we wanted to check if the guy who played bigfoot was the same guy who plays a lot of lanky monsters in movies these days - such as pans labyrinth, hellboy, and the other guy in pans labyrinth it was not. but we checked who that guy was and it was DOUG JONES! while looking at pictures of doug jones on the internet (shirtless, and, I'll say it, hot) we found a link to THIS website where people were discussing Doug Jones - this link! - quick shout out to 1dave ! Now we're here, and are very excited to get started in to lapidastry, going to buy a rock tumbler on ebay and collect lots of sea glass! (this is the tumbler i am looking at, please give me tips, i dont want to spend much on my first one - this one on ebay!) you're all so welcomin here, and I am so exciting to be part of your wonderful community

That was a very roundabout way of finding the forum! LOL As far as the tumbler...I'm not familiar with that particular kind. However, the results you get, are sometimes compensatory with the amount of money invested. Basically...if you don't get spectacular results, don't let it discourage you.
