And I use a vibratory tumbler to polish jewelry, and debur findings, especially jumprings.

I like big rocks and I cannot lie, those other miners can deny. When an agate comes out, with a nice shiny face, and dendrites in your face I get sprung!

Let us know how you found our little community on the web. You can explain your answer in the comments. This is an open ended poll. If you are new please consider answering it. I was watching a youtube on rock polishing and heard the term Cabochon. I did a search to try to learn more and I found this forum. Happy I did. I'm getting back into tumbling after a long hiatus (20 some years) and nearing retirement I was looking for something my wife and I could share together. Not sure I have the touch for making jewelry and such, but I may try it at some point.

Started with looking for obsidian cutting how-to articles and stumbled on this site. Am new to rock tumbling so thought this site would be a good resource for a novice.

I poked around on the Reddit rock subs a bit, but it seemed like there was a lot of contradictory info on there. This seems like the most active/laid back rock forum around. Lots of great knowledge here.
I have been lurking on Mindat a lot too, but there doesn’t seem to be much community there.

Rocks are super awesome, but so are rock people.

This is a new hobby. Several videos on YouTube sparked an interest in rock tumbling and this forum was recommended on a few of them.

Interested in building a tumbler for deburring as well as rock polishing. Google search on how to brought be here. I have always had an interest in rock collecting as I always looked thru my grandfathers petrified wood and agate collection. Going into retirement I am looking for activities that will keep me outside and moving. Looking foreward to the adventure.
