If you guys want, we can purchase 100 lbs...........I can go and get it and then mail it out to everyone. What do you think? We can divide the cost amoung us...........I will pay the left over difference. I can mail the boxes out by flat rate. Just give me a list of what you would like and I can make sure we get plenty of each!

Greetings All, That sure is some of the breast best prices for bulk rough I've seen. Some serious mouth-watering material, makes me want to take out a loan and buy it all. Maybe my wife would let me take out a second mortgage on our house...or maybe she'd just have me move out of the house more like it . William C

THe prices/lb are good, but with 100lb minimum, I would not say they are fantastic.
For example, you can find leopardskin lots of places for $2.50-$3.50 a pound, so $1.75 a pound with a 100# minumum is not as much discount as I would expect.
I wonder how much the prices will drop as this closeout sale progresses?

She needs to sell rocks to fund her breast reduction. I gotta admit, she does have some nice rocks for sale. I'd love to get some of that brecciated jasper, just can't afford the 100 pound minimum right now.

Wow! That's some nice looking stuff there! The leopardskin does look like the good old material that was much more silicified than most of what we see now and the Brecciated Jasper looks like the old stock Tabu tabu ( forestfire) material that is really nice. And Oh my, would I love to be able to afford all that Rutilated quartz and rainbow obsidian! Really pretty stuff.....mel

I dont know, Did you guys read her home page on why shes getting out of the biz? sounds fishy to me eitherway. I never bought from her before, and seen her boob auctions many times, thinking. Hey thats good marketing to all the old codgers in the rock and gem markets. Im with MEl, to me the Rutile and Rainbow is worth her asking price. But i myself cant afford her miniums right now unless we all did a bulk buy. The Urugray agates are nice too, but thats all i see as marketable in my opinion. MAybe slabs of that Amazon jasper, but ive personally seen many vendors pushing that rough on ebay and other places. And that Breccaite is nice, but the last jaspers i got from Kim were almost as nice in my opinion. Keep us posted if anyone does try to do a bulk buy, i will help, but like i said. My interests would be for only Rainbow Obsidain and Rutile quartz. But at $1650 for the RAinbow, and $4400 for the Quartz. I think we all gonna pass personally. But i bet she have to move them some way at Quartzsite or Tucson if she cant move them online. ANd giving what her home page reads. I personally dont want to be caught up in a lawsiute becasue i buy her materials. Are they ever hers? THats what her Home page gives off to anyone that reads it in my opinion. And why also she hasnt been able to sell them yet. NO professionally needs that risk to take, or have to wonder about.

Well, she was nice at first............but then she was not nice. She refused to work with us. She said just for the rutile it would be $360. Way to much for us to afford. She was also not sure she wanted me to pick it up. She said she only does business on the internet. That raised a red flag for me. She must not be a rockhound. And if she has all this rock, what is wrong with picking it up? Something is up. I am not contacting her any more!! Sorry guys and gals. If someone else wants to email her I will participate.

OK... Sounds like she is what she looks like..... I think she won't let you pick it up because it may not be there to pick up? This is a bad egg looking for more surgery money? Is there someone or some way of reporting her to someone? I also have a feeling that her rutile will stay right there... if it's there! Sorry... but I don't want to deal with her. Count me out.

Ya, if thats her responds then something is not right. Reporting her here is the best place to start. Though she does note certain quantities and those she wont break them up. If she then second guesses herself, and says she wont let you pick it up. Its not hers to sell it seems, and why there may be a lawsuit after her based on what shes says on her home page. Rocks are never worth the hassle some people create around them, no matter how nice they may be, and how fair a price may be.
What gets me, being in the biz for several years. I know several rockshops that buy these types of collection on the drop of a dime. Most of these adds can be found in rock n gem and lapidary journal. And she states she will not break up barrels or bags, yet she breaking up the whole collection. Therefor, the only market is how Sherri approached it. That is how Treasa would sell this collection as she stated she needs to move in my opinion. But if it was really hers, she could contact any of these shop who advertise they buy collections and would never of had to deal with people like us.
Not only not a rockhound, not a very smart business person if you ask me. Besides, anyone getting into selling rough needs to understand you can never win all the time, and in most cases, you loose selling rough. Unless you mine it or just piece meal it as a hobby.
I'm glad we found out more, Thanks Sheri for doing that and offering to pick it up. Its her loss though, not yours or ours.

Hobbit:Never have dealt with these folks but they sound like typical wholesalers. Don't want you to come by because they do sell in large lots and don't want to make appointments and then deal with hobbiests who might insist on trying to cherry pick their bulk materials and try to get them to break up lots. They pretty much consider us hobby rockhounds as "small potatoes". However, in her defense, you certainly wouldn't gain much favor with her for such a low offer. If it was just for the rutilated quartz, in large quantities, your offer was way low. Decent material in small quantities like you wanted usually goes $15.00 and up to $30.00 per pound here. ( I've paid that for decent stuff several times) Her stuff looks pretty good too. Then if you add in all the other material you wanted for the price, you offer was not very realistic. She might even have seen it as insulting if her material is as good as it looks...mel
PS: Shain, if any of you or any dealers you know, knows of anyone who will sell 100 pounds of material that looks that good for $2.25 per pound let me know pronto.....mel
