This turned out to be a great idea I like the format. Someday if I keep taking baby steps..... And pretty soon your baby steps will turn to leaps and bounds and you'll be in deep with the rest of us! Make sure you sign up for the Traveling Rock Box- I did it last year for the first time and it gives people a chance to work with new material they may not otherwise have access to, just like this box. It's a lot of fun!

So I picked the green moss agate and started working on it - I think I can finish it in a couple of days work permitting. I'm a sucker for moss agate of any color and this one spoke to me. It's also fairly large which is always a great starting point for me - with a piece like this I didn't really do much planning for a shape, I just started grinding the edges to see where it ends up. While still on the 80, an unfortunate large chip on the back side forced me to the trim saw for some cleanup and a shape began to develop. In repacking the box I didn't take anything out. If you guys could see how many preforms I have already it would probably make you throw up. If I ever die suddenly you definitely want to contact my wife quickly and try get her to sell you my metal drawers cabinet... just sayin. To create some room in the box I did pull out a couple of pieces of softer materials that had basically crumbled in their bags. I added what I consider five premium pieces with the thought that if everyone strives to keep the quality as high as possible the box can arrive back to deedolce with some really good stuff to bless her with for starting this cool game. Sheep Creek plume agate, a piece of bad-to-the-bone Dallasite from bcrockhound , Needles Blue gem silica, Mexican Sagenite, and some self-collected Burro Creek purple.

Nate the Polish Flint was super awesome NDK: And I can confirm that, Nate! Thanks guys. I'm proud of how the flint turned out. Ali did an amazing job on that poppy jasper. One of the best polishes I've seen on it 😎 Those are some amazing additions, Tommy!

"Tommy likes it" would be a gross understatement! I freaking love it Everyone - this young lady took a beautiful (and rare) piece of Morgan Hill poppy jasper and absolutely knocked it out of the park. The pattern capture is fantastic (mesmerizing) and the shine is perfection - better than I have been able to achieve on many piece of MH I've done. The shine and complete lack of scratches tells me that she worked her butt off on it, no question about it. Thank you Ali, you have raised the bar for all of us with this piece - for me especially. Holy Cannoli! X10 That is killer! ❤ thank you !

Wowza, you did an amazing job on the Morganhill jasper!! I got it decades ago from Zippy when I bought my first 'real' saw from him.
Nice additions Tommy!! I'm glad y'all are having fun with this traveling cabbing box!
Jim is next, but won't be able to check here for a couple of weeks, so take your time before you send it on! Might give some folks time to thaw out a bit too, this box has been moving fast!
