I posted this in another thread...but this is the Fairburn I found while Rob (jugglerguy) was visiting. It's been broken open for quite a long time as the surface has discolored to a brown/tan color. The "bottom" was recently broken...so I'm positive if I were to polish this one, I believe the surface and the fortifications would have purple in them.
(It's the biggest one I've ever found!!)
Nice! Thanks for the repost, I never saw it..

Here's my find for the day, a large rock but small patterns. It has some nice colors in the bands- might be destined for the blade...

Well...I was supposed to do the Fairburn Agate & Rock Swap in Hermosa, SD this weekend (I did this show last year and it went really well!). However, it rained most of Friday and Saturday, so I decided last minute not to setup.
It was clear today, so I did go down this morning/afternoon to see if I could get some deals on some cutters, since I never want to cut the Fairburns I find! LOL
Picked these up and each one will get cut to use for cabochons. Hopefully there's some good ones in the lot!
Oh...the first two pics aren't mine. I took a shot of one guys table. He's got more "once in a lifetime" Fairburn Agate finds than you can imagine!!!

I figured the pics of the cuts should go in Mike's Fairburn Agate thread.
This one has Teepee Canyon Agate colors...but it is definitely a Fairburn. The host rock is nothing like a Teepee Canyon nodule...
Very intricate banding in this one:
Chad (Son Of Beach) said Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for this one...he nailed it!
I've seen a few Brecciated Fairburn Agates...and this is another one! Really cool!!
The colors are outstanding in the host Jasper on this one! There are three slabs...pics are the front and back of the slabs.
This one has some pits and a fracture...but I think I can make it work for a nice cab...

I cut some preforms this morning...before I couldn't take the heat any more! LOL

Holy mackerel jasoninsd . What a spectacular show of Fairburns. I bet you still can’t wipe the grin off your face.
Right?!?! LOL
I thought I was going to get the preforms shaped up yesterday...but it seems like there's not enough hours in a single day off! LOL - I've got two more cabs I'd like to get finished...and I thought maybe I'd get to them tonight...but I need to catch a "second...or third wind" before that happens! LOL

So there's a new coworker at the bank who likes rocks. She bought a ton of my pendants and wants to take her son rockhounding for Fairburns. She wanted to see what they look like in the wild so I brought some in to show her. I haven't looked at them in a while so I had to take a short video...

Sounds great- she likes rocks AND your pendants. Great person to work with. LOL!
Here's one that one of my sons cut awhile back and gave to me yesterday. He said he thought that I could "do something with it." I think he's correct. 😏

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C.S. dandresow: Thanks. Haven't done anything with rocks for years. Just fixed an older HP 18 inch and dug out a 10 inch and 18in Lortone and I have a couple of trim saws and need to make something to cab with. We stay broke and I only have enough to put oil in 1
