jasoninsd Ya some materials I think it’s impossible to not get obsessed with. Amen. I love to obsess over collections. It gives meaning and purpose to life, makes the sky bluer, food more delicious, women more beautiful, air fresher, laughter more melodious, water wetter. Did I mention I like rock collections even more?

I have been meaning to take this down from the wall and re-photograph it, meant to do it yesterday for Sat wood, but didn't get to it until today. Having problems getting all the reflections out of the black area. Any way it is Stinking Water oak. about 14 inches across.

Wow. With all of the visible wood structure, the perfect heart, and the agatized areas, that's a mega-$ piece of wood there!

New photo of old material. Just combining two pieces. Both Stinking Water Oak. The little stand up is one of three pieces we took that were loose. In my next life maybe I will go back and dig the rest of the log out!

Been working on this slab of Stinking Water Oak. Slowly making headway! too big to fit on machines so have to do all of the work by hand.

Here it is before and after 36 hours of bleach. Think I like the before version better, maybe abit too long in the bleach.
