Tommy , I'd like to offer up a prize for the winner of this month's contest. il send a MFRB of rough material to the winner. May take me a few days to get it together and get photos but for sure there will be several pounds of Ohio Flint, Texas petrified wood, and various other materials included. I can send you the pics to add to the thread once I take them, if that's ok. Well in that case, this competition just got serious. But if I win (unlikely) you can keep the Ohio flint. I got 100 pounds of it last week. Thanks for the thoughtful prize bounty! I don't think anyone participates for the prize, but it does make it more fun. My priorities for entering this month's challenge just changed to WANTING to win the prize! LOL oldschoolrocker - Fantastic offering...now I have to try even harder! LOL

Tommy what is the 3rd one? I believe that was a coyamito agate nodule from Mexico. I got around five slices from it but that one was the cream of the crop.

The last one is wild, and proof that when a rock is special enough, just round off the edges and it will be an amazing cab. Yeah no kidding ... that one was SO bloody variable from super soft near the edges to agate hard near the middle I was surprised that I even finished it.

I think this is the earliest I've submitted an entry for any of the challenges! LOL Teepee Canyon Agate with a VERY large druzy pocket...so big, I'm not sure if the druzy is more than 50% of the entire cabochon! LOL Rough Slab: Preform: Front View: Side View: Backside of Cab:

Thanks Mike! I might see if I can get some different pics outside on another day. I tried today, but it's kinda cloudy...as well as windy and chilly! LOL

I was so inspired by jasoninsd's beautiful creation that I picked through my preforms and found the perfect piece of Burro Creek to work on ... I almost had the dome shaped ... and it broke

I almost had the dome shaped ... and it broke Gosh darn it! What an absolute heartbreak! Probably not what you want to read right now, but I can see two killer cabs out of that...both with a "live" edge on that druzy side...

Thanks Perk! Working this thing on dop was SO difficult for me! I had to put the dop on the largest area there on the left side. It was completely off-center. I usually rely on the dop to help judge my angles when grinding...but with it being off-center, I couldn't do that.

If I had a bad drop, I'd be Waaaaayyyy of center.
