Hi All, I know some / many of you may have seen this pic already but I had to share it. I imagine it a bit lower down getting a total mashing and then polishing on the rings of saturn. Probably not how things went - nice pic though. Tried to print it out to frame it but theres too much black in the pic and the paper just came out soaking wet and smeared. Wont be trying that again Mark More here saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/multimedia/images/images.cfm?subCategoryID=22

savetheinternet.com/=faqIs the link from Sandsman above - I think someone was using the topic to make a few squids on the link which I posted - cheers edog - im off to check out the seduction link right now! Rockfromahplace - this is what I mean - theres so many pages about it (net neutrality) that it got me wondering. Rollingstone - thanks for that - a fact like that certainly helps to discredit the document - hopefully the concept aswell. Cpdad - I hope cp is correct - as you say - g****e arent my favorite SE for many reasons - they are however a prime example of how giants can get a hold and billions of people havent even noticed that one!!!

All, if you have a moment can you have a read of this ipower.ning.com/netneutrality2Does anyone here have any knowledge of this? Is it "news" in the US? A hoax? True? Exaggerated? Can anyone shed any light on it for me? Should we spread the word? Mark

Hey - I cant write a book - I dont know half the stuff you guys know, I even struggle to make obsidion shine up. But you know if someone on here wrote one and wanted to sell it on here - then I am certain it would be totally comprehensive and i dont mind if the writer makes a few dollars out of it for their time and effort. Still a reader would have to come back and chat about things though - cant beat that Mark

Nahh - theres nothing in a "book" which could ever outshine human interaction. I cant measure it - but the expertise on here would far outshine a book which was published for monetary gain - not that that one was........ who knows LOL The book isnt useless by any means - but can a reader of a "book" ask a question to that "book" and get an answer if the answer is not in that book? NO People are better than books - theres nothing like asking and talking to folk. I lurveeee the WEB! Its people power all the way and its free. Mark.

Im a happy "earthling" - well theres a few trivial issues which get to me but nothing serious. I'm grateful for the planet earth as a whole - granted some humans have it easier than others - likewise many other creatures have it easier than others. If we went to Venus, we would be simultaneously Crushed, Gassed, Roasted and Poisoned within a split second. We'd all have it tough there - and if life developed there - it would be very very different from how it is here. Im happy im an earthling. Mark

The Canon Rebel XT - as far as I know is also branded the Canon 400D.
Ive got one and its my pride and joy to be honest. Loads of learning to do, loads of experimenting etc. If you are able to get one - then I personally feel it will satisfy your needs.
Whatever camera you get - do get a tripod and a remote control for it to achieve almost total stability - thats the trick IMHO.
Cheers Mark

Spurred on by the reaching of 2000 members here, Ive just been out to the garage to investigate why my two tumblers werent working. I took the back off the first one and found the culprit.... So I unscrewed the other one from my bench, and sat it on the first one whilst I took the back off that one. Lo and behold........ Two broken belts within a week of each other - hows that for unlucky? So I went deep into the tip which is my garage, and dug out two old faithfulls ........ So the remaining 3 barrels which havent worn through are going round again and ALL IS SMOOOOOOOTH (ish) Mark

Im staggered, unfortunately im still not tumbling - im halfway through about 4 barrels and my drive belts have come off (maybe broke b ut cant see yet) not one but TWO of my machines and I havent got round to dismantling them (its a filthy job as they are covered in oil and muck (two barrels burst). Its as though my break from tumbling somehow damaged the belts? Maybe theyve been stuck in one shape somehow and the heat in the garage (like a greenhouse) has somehow taken away some of their elasticity? Dunno - but I'll sort it when I get round to it ! Mainly though - CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE MEMBERS - ITS YOU GUYS WHO MAKE THE BOARD WHAT IT IS!!!! Cheers all Mark

Put all the snivelling rats behind you and build up your own business - if you dont - then you will quite often be running into the scum you ran into there (young runts with "brains" (I think not)). Go it alone mate - its hard at first - then during......... thats where Im at (its not so bad). Once you are a director of a company (no matter how small a company it is) - runts like that sucker will ................. well you know - they will errrmmmm "do things" for you On the other hand in the smaller picture - I am glad to hear that you have employment to see things right like bills and whot not. F*** em off Edog and start up your own company and never be employed again - its fun - Im there. Mark.

Mel - I agree,
I feel that beyond the obvious tumbling stuff, unless we had access to some of sciences most technological gear, along with the massively educated brains from JPL to go with it - then many of the rocks presented here may as well be from pluto.
What im getting at is that folk here shouldnt be thinking that they SHOULD IDENTIFY EVERYTHING PRESENTED.
There are too many combinations of atoms making up rocks to be able to give a name to each sample.
Im confused but I *think* im going along the right lines.

Guys and Gals - I was thinking tonight about rock id. I look at some of the pics here, and think that only a chemical experiment which may possibly involve Acids, Lights, Carbon analysis, Electron Microscope Scanning etc could identify some of the pics here. Some "rocks" like especially those found as beach pebbles are so mixed up in their own chemistry that - in actual fact - there is no name for them? ? Is that true - or am I imagining things? Mark
