vegasjames We like displaying things together that go together, but the guitar would have to be a BIG one. The table is 49" top to point. quartz being from Minnesota that is exactingly what we said when we found it. fernwood We thought you would get a kick out of it because of you working with my picks. I wish I played guitar because I love the sound of a hollow body, but I have tried and just can't figure it out..............................MrP

The ring was a custom for someone who fell in love with the one I made for myself. She loves it. Biggest challenge for me with this style is an accurate size in the end. She needed a size 4 1/3. cop hem ring 2 The hearts show what has become my go to, quick and easy bail. heart pends 5-17-18 Thanks for looking. Those bails look very nice on the hearts. Nice job!................................MrP

OK, now you are talking Beth. I so want to do wire bails like that on the drilled glass. Watching close. I have a lot of industrial wires to try out. When I start making wire bails I will share my experiences. So glad you posted this. There is some fine Youtube tuts on making these too. Wire wrap bail works for me...............................MrP

I have been in the tumbling awhile now and have had my go around's with trying different equipment reading and learning along the way. In the matter of the last couple months I have had 3 blow outs in two QT66 tumblers and two of them back to back today. On my two Thumler B's a stick of dyn "O" mite couldn't blow the ends off. I haven't had a drip on them. There is something to say about that gasketed end with wing nuts I think the hexagon barrel gives more action to the media inside also. For these reasons these two QT66's that have less than two months runtime along with spare parts will be listed in the 4 sale area. I have ordered two more thumler B's from Shaun at TRS. ~Duke TheRock Yes that does suck. I don't know how to draw on here so I will try to explain how I took care of that problem. First I find the lip of the lid to be too straight. I have taken a ball-peen hammer to dimple the lip, at the curve, to put a pinch point at the upper lip of the barrel. That will help hold the lid, to keep it from popping out. With the last lid I just put a 1/4" wide piece of gorilla tape around the inside lip next to the rounded edge. Also when I put the lid on I have the barrel sitting on a rock to put a dimple in the barrel bottom. With the dimple in the end you can watch for expansion and catch it before anything happens. Lets face it, if you have the wrong combination of rocks enough pressure can built to blow or leak from any lid. Good Luck............................MrP

I use a convex wheel to put an elongated divot where a person's thumb contacts the pick. I put it in before I tumble the pick. Feels good to me but I don't play so have no real info..........................MrP What sort of wheel? Like a cabbing wheel? I thought about using a ball shaped burr on a Dremel, but I don't know if I could control it enough to center it properly. Maybe in a drill press I could. Jugglerguy I use a Jade carver wheel. It is a solid wheel, which I didn't realize at the time I bought it, so it is a heavy wheel but works fine on the Genie....................MrP

MrP . Can I post a photo here of the one you sent that I have been using? I roughed up the groove a little and it works great. Yes. Sounds like I need to put the grove in after the polish. Thanks for the feedback...................MrP

Those are excellent wall plates. Did not know if the color would hold up on carnival glass or not. I have cut some pendants from coated type glass. If it is the right thickness, cut, polish the edge and it is good to go. I did this with an old iridescent gold embossed lamp. My wife loves it...........................MrP

You have to be pretty careful handling polished cabs . . . slippery buggers, they are. Curious why polished guitar picks are not a problem. I've been told it is a problem. Any idea how to rough up the part you hold onto without making it look bad? I haven't come up with any thing yet. Sandblasting a circle there might work, but I don't have a sandblaster. Those sure came out nice. Something to think about, I have tumbled thousands of cabs for pendants. I have a couple of cases that hold a few hundred each that people will sort through, to pick out what they want, for me to drill and put a bail on. Some ladies would take them home and dump them out to sort through them. I found that some of the softer cabs have dulled over the years. Looking over them it is from micro scratches, that I believe is from dust and dirt. Granted it has taken a long time and many many people sorting through them. Not sure how you are going to store yours but I just want to make you aware of this. My hope for you is that they go from the tumbler to somebody else's hand. Really enjoy watching this......................................MrP I hope to not have to deal with people Michael. Especially a bunch of ladies picking thru stock making long decisions lol. I will sell cheap to avoid such. And really really target jewelers that sell retail. Having a half dozen ladies crowding me with questions, picking this one and that one and not this one and not that one is a nightmare come true. Must be turning into an old cynical grump in old age. Telling me that they can unpolished cabs is all you have to say. Ha, I could hoodwinkle my wife into running the sales stand. I knew the people who were buying so I just gave them the case and let them go for it. The cabs were shapes I cut or the odds and ends left over from good cabs I made. When I tumbled this stuff I threw in everything, smalls, ends, odd junk, you name it. After they were polished I would sort the good shape from the bad. One day I brought the wrong case in and found out that a lot of the ladies liked what I thought was junk better than what I thought was the good stuff. After that I mixed it all together and sold a lot of stuff I thought would never sell. One never knows.........................MrP
