I found a one cab slab at the rock show and the vendor mentioned that it's from the area that bird of paradise agate comes from. He said it was very popular and there is more to mine but no interest. Anybody recognize this material? Thanks for looking Geoff

I'm no metal smith but my wife tried to be one once. She bought a 30 foot spool of bezel wire so we have plenty. My opinion is that anyone who does this kind of work likes to make their own, being able to control what type of solder to use.
Seems like most folks reading this think that there is a back involved and the stone is set. I understand that it is a loose bezel, ready to solder onto a back of your choice. Do you get requests for these Clint?

Rocky Butte jasper is so hard I swear I can feel the diamonds leaving the wheels. But it's worth it for the pictures. Thanks for looking Geoff

Thanks everyone. There was primo rough for 50.00 lb. the "cabbing" rough was 25. I think a small nodule of primo rolled off into the cabbing tray, oops!

Thanks everyone. I talked with the local bead/rock shop and the owner said he would sell it for 80.00. He is pretty knowledgeable and owns the rock shop in Virginia where Randy shops. Not too sure what I will do....

Nice cabs Bob. That last one is emerald it looks just like the emerald I got in a Mine-run 1 pound bag from ebay. I cabbed one piece and put it away because of all the fractures. I think I'll dig it up right now, it is pretty soft and is easy to cut.
