UPDATE FROM CDC
Very important information about a new strain of an old disease has just been made public. I think it is something we should all be aware of: Gonorrhea Lectim. The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called Gonorrhea Lectim.
It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect 'im." The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008 ..... but now most people after having been infected for the past 1-2 years are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is.
It's sad because it is so easily cured with a new procedure just coming on the market called Vo-tem-out! You take the first dose/step in 2010 and the second dosage in 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again, otherwise it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it. Several states are already on top of this such as Virginia, New Jersey, and now Massachusetts, with many more seeing the writing on the wall.
Please pass this important message on to all those you really care about. Thank you!!
;D

A flat lap is OK for cabbing but, no inside curves. IMHO, flat laps are for flat work. Cabs are not flat and are generally easier to cut on wheels. The Genie I have allows me to go from rough grind to polish without stopping to change lap plates. Strictly for cabbing= wheeled machine.

Thanks for your nice complements everyone. I do like the Kaleidoscope jasper though it's quite fractured. It reminds me of Morgan Hill material. I have one large chunk that has not produced a usable slab yet.
The bone is solid, no pits on this one. I have some brown bone that has hollow cells with no crystals (junk).

That's great Nate. I think it's a mix of agate and opalite. The white and creamy parts are the opal and the other is agate with inclusions. Geoff

I ran a .032 303 blade in my 10" saw and I loved it. I came out a few times to see the blade forced to the edge of the slot in the table, grinding some of it off. One time I thought it was going to burst into flames, it was smoking so much. For my saw, it's too thin for slabbing. It did last for two years. I just got a replacement 303 but this time I went with .040 thickness.
