Looks like obsidian week on here with Julies fine batch a couple days ago.I wasn't going to mess with ob again, but had a lot of scrap from slabbing, trying to knap, and end cuts. This was a different method I tried.I ran a 12lb barrel in one coarse charge for 27 days. Then went to 2 Loto loads in 1000,4 days, and ao polish,3 days. ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/P10100963_zps783cf562.jpg) The batch ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P10100782_zps06836c35.jpg) Ihad some large chunks in the load. These ended up frosted,I guess from banging against each other in the 12lb barrel.Surprisingly, all the small pieces and slabs weren't frosted. ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P1010076_zps99f0efec.jpg) Snowflake, again some frosting on the large pieces. ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P1010080_zps5b651df4.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P1010085_zps522cbece.jpg) These slabs are from Tonys Davis Creek ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/P1010091_zps70ef9d99.jpg) Tears, small for cushioning. Overall, pleased with it,even with the frosting on the large pieces, can work on them later. Thanks for your time. snuffy

Those are certainly different! Interested to see the concrete polished.Cant grasp the cement polished by tumbling,at least the kind I've used in my days.

I fixed my thumler lids by building up a layer of plastidip,1/16- 1/8 inch thick on the inside of the lid, last longer than I will! Tape the edge of the lid about a 1/4 inch where it seats.

Hey James. The pic of the leaf litter torn up by hogs hit home with me years ago.I used to go into the woods with a tractor and trailer and scoop up the 2-3 inch layer of leaf mould and put it in my garden. When the piggies moved in,ruined that resource.

Are the red ones heated Snuffy? Turkey roasted... That is one of my favorite stones. It is the state stone of Louisiana. Need to show that batch to the Governor of Texas and take that privilege from Louisiana. These aren't heat treated James.Palm is also the state stone of Texas! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) snuffy

I had 3 lbs of this for sale a while back,no one was interested,so I threw it in the tumblers.Lots of them are pieces showing the grain, which I really like. This was a Loto batch, silver dollar for scale ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P10100522_zpsd98f9685.jpg) A variety of colors in this batch ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P10100432_zpsee9fb0d1.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P1010034_zps5d932235.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P1010040_zpsb6574ec5.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/tumbles/P10100452_zpscd20aef4.jpg) ![](http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv299/snuffygerald/P10100512-crop_zpsc046a943.jpg) Closeup of some of my favs in the batch.
