Welcome Ed! Sounds like a fun way to go. The sound of a tumbler is like music to our ears.

That would be a treat to watch a big 36" in action.

First one is really quite nice. Would make a good cut piece along the banded (white) section.

I am so jealous of the western rockhounds. How fun for you guys. Hope to see a real cactus someday.

Also, lots of pictures from different angles. Have been searching for plans; wanting to build one. Congratulations!

That fine stream could definitely be a benefit cleaning inside geodes. Thanks for the heads up.

Beautiful! Montana is the best agate and best lapidary material of them all. This stuff sets the standard. Great work!

The rhodonite is my favorite. A material not seen often. Great work!

Thank you for the details. How true, in regard to the difficulty at that time. It would have been nice to have experienced that kind of life, but in reality, probably would not have lasted too long. Someday, I will make it to Texas, and see your great state for myself. Daughter may be going to school in Oklahoma, so getting a little bit closer. I love discussing history all day.

Posed the 25 mile question to my students today. Lot's of good guesses, but only one young man said, "I bet it has to do with horses". I said close enough, gave him credit for a good answer and expounded a little more. Thanks for the history question of the day!

Thanks for that fun information. I just love historical facts, and especially the cool old buildings (pillars are beautiful)! As a history teacher, this stuff is of great interest. I will share the 25 mile thing with my students today as a bonus question.

I find the opal very attractive. Would work up a nice piece. Had not heard of it.
