Ah yes Ed. Visions of my first Vietnamese open air meat market. Flies crawling all over the meet hanging from hooks. Fly covered blood on the ground. Mangy cats and dogs sleeping on the dirt floor.

This the stuff you were talking about James ? Beats hell out of that hot water bottle hanging from a hook near the toilet with the rubber hose and plastic thingie attached to it. (Yes, mom used that on me when I was a kid too). Beets and asparagus. Yuck !! Folks used to grow both and forced me to eat it. Hate the sight of it now. Hey Ed, chicken hearts are OK, but chicken livers are to die for. Jean, beef liver still shows up in our local store from time to time. Guess it's a country folks thing.

Ed, you're over frying that liver. Done to perfection with fried taters & onions, it's a meal fit for royalty.

Nah, the original rock'n heart came into existence millions of years ago in Montana.

Hey Chuck, thanks for the idea on spreading the water. Who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks ?

It was just a broken chip before they tumbled it. The dark area at the top is translucent dark agate. Almost black.

It was sent as a freebie with a bunch of minerals I bought. Guy always sends 2 or 3 freebies. Thought of your hearts as soon as I saw it.

Hey hey hey, those Texas P.O. workers are on the ball. Just got my box of goodies from Mel. That guy really knows how to pack a box. Poor mailman looked like he was about to have a hernia.
I need to wash the Texas dust off of everything and look them over real good, but I can see red & gold plumes in a couple of the Woodward biscuits. Think I'll grind a few tiny windows in each, so I can properly orient each for cutting. I know some will be duds, but that's the nature of the beast.
I'll probably be able to candle the Moctazumas, and decide which way to cut them.
Thanks Mel. Looks like you packed some real purdies in there. If I was a seller of cabs, just one killer Woodward Ranch cab would pay for the whole box. But I do it for my own pleasure.

I've seen a unit like that years ago, but I'll be damned if I can remember who made them. If I have time, I'll look through some old Lapidary Journals from the 50's & 60's to see if I can find it.

What makes me smile ? Why Indy cars from back in the 50's when they still ran the Offy 4 bangers. Nothing quite like the sound of one of those growlers at full speed.

Just heard back from Larry. He'll stop by in a couple days to say hi & catch up with friends. He's been busy painting & remodeling the house. Painting the kitchen right now.
