"How can the government RAISE your insurance? Do we have Universal Insurance here? Unless you are writing from Canada or the UK, last I checked, insurance companies are PRIVATE and CAPITALIST corporations in the USA and charge what they want.
What am I missing here?"
I've heard they are going to tax the cadilac plans. How it works or the truth of it I don't know. Also......the sequester amounts to what $85billion? There's plenty of cuts that could be made elsewhere without making it sound so stupid as to close whitehouse tours.
One things for sure with the internet it doesn't take long to rip this BS apart. I'm sure they'd love to flip the switch.

"Nothing wrong with a Briggs powered saw. Off an on over the last couple years a buddy and I have been trying to figure out a large drag saw, using a spare snow blower motor that I have laying around. It would be trailer mounted so it could be hauled behind an ATV for use in the field."
I didn't elaborate but I was actually thinking along the lines of taking out the piston rod and cam shaft and using the motor as the arbor which would be turned by an electric motor. One of my 'dream' projects is a trailer mounted 36" saw. I already have the trailer, blade and some various other parts. I also thought about gas powered as I have seen gas powered field saws and then decided since I have 3 generators to just go all electric and use that to power it. This is nothing that's going to happen anytime soon I don't even need it. I get some fairly colorful and large quartzite boulders here, perhaps could make walking stones, pet grave markers etc.

Set the timer for 60 minutes and hope for the best. LOL. Nothing wrong with crazy thoughts I have them all of the time. If you have a use for a large tumbler I think after weighing the pros and cons my as well build something like a tire tumbler. Unless you have tons of times and just want to try it to do it which there's nothing wrong with. Kinda like my crazy idea of turning a pushmower upside down and using the crankshaft as an arbor and making a flat lap out of it. Do I really have time for that? No. Probably should've never mentioned that now there will be homemade saws with briggs engines hanging off the side lol.

We're screwed. That's how they get away with the crap they do...........they count on a large % of the population being stupid. Then they make people like us look crazy for talking about the truth.

It's easily seen that schools are teaching "guns are bad". This is all going to blow up soon I think. They can pass all the laws they want.

The Sequestar crap is only $85billion which is nothing compared to our debt levels. The Feds hand over that much per month to the banks just to keep them propped up. Little do many people know how screwed up this entire system is and how much trouble it is in. They think the crash of 2008 has come and gone. Hardly.

Might consider having a floor jack and/or furniture dollies handy. Wheels probably won't be on it I don't know how they'd bolt it to the crate otherwise? Be nice if you could at least get it set on the concrete where it's going by the driver. When I move large and heavy items here I either use the chain hoist in the tree or ill make a temporary frame out of 6x6's in the barn and use my electric hoist and slings. The electric hoist is supposed to be for an elevator im building in the house so I guess ill have to get another one as it's been too useful elsewhere. I had planned on making a permanet hoisting frame in the barn with a trolley but I only have 1000 projects. At least.

My grandma used to say "once you lose your health your screwed". That's coming back full circle. Trillions to the banks, austerity for the rest of us.

My dad insisted on giving mcdonald's cheesburger to his mini-dauchhound. She was 13 when she died and looked full sized. Heart issues. I am not sure though, this may be a good age anyhows. Sure was hard trying to get my great dane to gain weight lol. Same way with my bloodhound. The neighbor has a huge fat bloodhound but he's been fixed not sure if that's related or not. Def needs to go to fat camp. I've always wanted to take my dogs to a buffet lol.

LOL Hi Mike, I mounted an arbor and a motor on a 2x6 that used a door hinge to swing up and down. Like I said it was crude. It's nothing I would say try to do lol.
When I got a little older I swapped out rocks for gokarts and took the arbor off the 2x6, left the motor on the board and put a pair of bicycle handlebars from my dirtbike on it and used it to start my high compression McCulloch race engines with a pulley and belt. Beat the hell out of push starting.

Try to make contacts if you have the time. So much easier when you have ideas where to go instead of just out in the middle of the desert, which i've done before.

Rocks in qty are hard to sell at a good price. If you have $ to burn go for it. Nickel and diming your way back to $100k is an impossibility in your life time lol. Might be a good deal for an established shop that had $ and you could offer like $20k. Would be cool to have though.
I have someone right now trying to sell me a pile-of-stuff for $1k and im still arguing over that price lol.

Hi Mike, I built a 14" drop saw out of wood when I was 10. LOL. It worked. Not very well but it did cut rocks.

I posted pics of my Frantom 10" rebuild on the other Frantom post before I seen this. Good job cleaning it up! Here's a pic of it that I just found scanning thru all my pics that didn't get put on the other thread.

Back to the subject at hand probably the easiest vise to make would be the clamp type like Lortone. You don't want to use a thick bottom plate or you'll lose too much blade height I would design it like a Covingtons, a piece of 10ga on the bottom with shaft collars that go on the guide and then a another shaft for the crossfeed. You never know maybe get lucky and someone doesn't use the vise but that could be forever finding it. I prefer the Frantom vise over the HP vise on this style saw. On my HP I am going to weld a 3/8" allthread to each side of the vise and use it as a lortone style clamp I just havn't got around to it. I am thinking I could put bigger rocks into it but really havn't looked into it yet.
