He backed out of two eBay sales almost 3 months ago TBH ... I think we should call for air-strikes.

It looks like it is outside the diameter. So if the shaft size is 8mm and the out side diameter would be 28 MM. So if you want to reduce by half you would have your 28 mm on the motor and use a 56 mm on the driven. Just a little math. I think there was a thread a while back with some links that explained it a lot better than I just did. Thanks for responding. That was my line of thinking too ... although if the wheel is 100mm diameter, presumably then 28 is the inside diameter. That seemed like a lot of spare metal. The technical data says this is the bore: what is the bore? Sorry, first steps in machine pulleys. I'm happy with the maths. I can do that bit. I just need to make sure I purchase the correct part in the first place.

Pic 1 Pic2 Sorry to hijack this thread; I have need of some similar help. Further to a 1/3 hp motor purchase, I'm looking for a belt wheel as in (melhill's) images above. The shaft is 8mm or I think that translates to US 5/16ths. What am I looking for exactly, belt-wheel; pulley-wheel? If you guys have this as (reasonably) standard then I should be able to source one in the UK. Just not quite sure I know what I need. I'm going to stick with melhill's @anybodythatknowsmotors Thank you! Just to resurrect my thread-hijack attempt... As you may recall, I've been looking for a v-belt pulley. The following has the right shaft diameter, 8mm. In the example linked here, what does 28 represent. I'd like to achieve no more than a 1:1 with the motor and ideally reduce the revs a little. Thank you!

In other discussions the cactus juice has come up. Something worth considering, and this site has some vacuum vessels as well, might want to price compare, I didn't. www.turntex.com/Brake bleeder gun (ebay) and a (free-sourced) jar ~ $15 Turntex vacuum chamber ~ $150 No competition really.

Haven't been posting much in the past eight or nine months. Couple of reasons for that. First off, I was dealing with some drug interaction issues and couldn't trust myself to not spout off a bunch of garbage. Russ Why not run with the flock? But seriously ... I've been there so know what you've been through. Glad to see you out of the other side.

Is the area volcanic or metamorphic? If 1) then likely olivine if 2) then likely epidote
I'm not sure about the purple... is it purple? Maybe the photo colour settings / light cast has removed it. It looks grey on my screen, which doesn't help identification.

I missed this thread earlier, nice all the faceting stuff is in one place now. You are doing fantastic work micellular. I find Feldspar (Sunstone)is a really nice stone to facet, very forgiving and Akhavans designs are beautiful. I just cut a 10 carat Topaz in his Tesselation 10 design, its a wow stone. Please post pics! We could use more active faceters here! A very beautifully cut stone. Sorry, I'm inactive for the present.

No problem. British metamorphic gems might include the Iona and Cuillin (Skye) Marbles From Ireland there is the Connemara Marble It turns out that in Scotland: Ruby Bay (Elie) Pyrope Garnet are volcanic in origin Scottish Brucite and Forsterite Durness MarbleSome of these Prehnite may well be metamorphic, given their location in e.g. Lewisian terrane in the west HTH

Welcome! Similarly I haven't tumbled sodalite, but it is quite soft, so check it often and go easy with the coarse grit.

It might be if someone sheared off part of Canada and shifted it back to Blighty. Or are you suggesting this area previously joined prior to the Atlantic spreading? The geology of the English Liverpool can be found here - mainly sedimentary.

My Next Wife is from very near Norfolk. She says that whole buildings are made from flint in that area.
Whole buildings, row upon row sometimes some dating back many centuries. Well they would be - it is hard material! Gonna take more than rain to do any damage. Check out google images www.google.co.uk/search?q=norfolk+flint+building
