Folks said mine looked like Dallasite too, but others said 'not so much'. The answer is out there... Lilacmoth I hope you can get it cut or at least face polished. Very curious about this one! (find more! )

very encouraging everybody, thank you! Captbob PM coming your way. Can't thank you enough for your generous offer. Put the stones back in the Lot-o and continuing, I know I am way too impatient... but I'm trainable. Thanks again all, more pictures when progress is evident.

Shotgunner cut the slab for me from a rock I sent him and was going to make a sphere of some of it, Tommy Lay made a pendant for me such a surprise and one of my most prized possessions now... I love the stuff and keep trying to find more. May have found one more piece of it...

we had some nesting in the gable of our porch, unusual for them to nest above ground, but once started they stayed. When the guy came to remove the nest he showed us they had been there for years,(before we bought the house) The entire gable was filled with old nests. They die back to a few eggs every winter and supposedly move their nest to a new location when they hatch in the spring, one becoming the queen, the others becoming attendants and drone, the nest multiplies and becomes more aggressive as the season progresses, ending in extremely hostile and protective large numbers in the fall. because they could not easily find their way out of the gable, they reproduced there year after year.... gone now, thankfully. They are nothing to mess with.

I love green rocks. Cool veining in that one, and the little particles with the rings around them make me think of this (still unidentified breccia) found on the SW Shores of Lake Huron. I would love to see what that looks like inside! The red will make it spectacular! (look for more!)

after years of seeing 'sweet' photos of humming birds and other images of them while growing up, I was surprised to see the real thing for the first time 'in action' and real life. combative and argumentative things... amazing little critters!

120/220 is coarse for a Lot-o most rocks here are already well rounded due to beach wear, coarser grit in the rubber bowl of a Lot-o is not recommended due to damage it can do to the bowl. What should I do, go back for more hours at 120/220? I am worried about undercutting, at this rate the jasper is already sticking out of the matrix pretty bad. Wish I'd thought to take before photos... Just checked the bowl, it is 12 hours since starting in 500, the rocks are starting to shine a bit in places... we'll see what happens by morning.

they looked better after 24 hours than they do now at 3 days in my Lot-O. They have been in 120/220 and are undercut and frosted. Using quartz fish gravel and SIO with a little squirt of dish soap, just wet. Need to add Sugar, I think. Switched to 500 SIO this morning, checking minimum of every 12 hours. The chalcedony in with it seems to be doing better, slight shine to it.
patience is a virtue, doesn't come naturally to me. Still learning. thanks for looking.
