You sure are starting the new year out right, Billy! That is a fabulous ring. Can't wait until my new tool arrives (thanks to you) so I can try it out. Thank you, I am sure your workmanship will make mine look like a beginner. Use a 3 saw blade, a two is just a might narrow for the guide to slip into.

Did you say before that you cut the groove before you lotto them?

Perfection as always, how do you keep the right depth when cutting the groove? What is gauge of the wire? Do you have any problem with the obsidian cabs chipping out when you are grooving them. I know you probably posted answers to these questions before. Thanks in advance.

I love mixed metal and I really love melting stuff These are silver on copper. Carnelian, opal and Laboradite They are really hard however to capture in a photo just how cool they are Can't give you a torch and some metal, wow nice work. Do you flux the piece when you flow the silver? Might be an option if you're not doing it.

Well what kind of comment is you could make your hair beautiful? Seems pretty rude to me.
One lady told me I would be better looking if I shaved and got a hair cut, she was pretty good looking. You should have seen the look on her face when I said " at least I can do something to improve my looks, you could start by brushing your teeth." I still know her and she has been a lot nicer.
So that being said, I think your hair is fine and you co workers need a lesson in civility.

Amazing as usual, my sluggo type setting can't even compare. Lucky woman to get those.
I always get nervous for some reason soldering on cast.

You did a nice job on that, toiv0 , for your first one. Added plus -- it's purple! Is the shank plain or did you do a schmantzy pantsy one?
Now I'm going to have to look up this new tool. I probably need to buy myself a belated Xmas present. Thank you, I am not in my regular shop so no Schamtzy Pantsy, used a paterned wire you can see in the first pic. Maybe just Schamtzy. I think the stone is Charoite but haven't seen one this dark. Also thought Lapidolite but too hard for that.

Very pretty ring and bezel! It's the first bezel of that time that I've ever seen. Thanks, I have always wanted to do one, little more work but worth it.

Great job toiv0 . Did you do the saw work on the bezel? If so it's very neatly done. Yes, I used 18 ga sterling. A guy by the name of Jim Brandvik makes an indexing tool and holder, I had bought them a month ago and just got around to using them. I use a 2 saw blade but think I need a 3. I think he sells them on Etsy and has several u tube videos using them.

toiv0 looks like it could be Imperial Jasper to me. Some of the really old stuff that is difficult to find now would have that color green that was translucent like that. It also had the white matrix. Beautiful stuff and one of Vince's favorites. We look for it, but haven't found any in years. Sweet, never seen any translucent before.

Well when I seen @hookedonrocks posted this cab I could not resist. His work is finer in person than his excellent photography shows. I will be working these up in silver in the coming weeks. Thanks Paul.
