That's one of the most famous rocks out there. Would love to get royalties on that photo, or any other likeness of that rock. It's too good. So, what you're saying is this has been around forever? Kinda like me. LOL! (But, seriously, I never saw it before.) That just means we are 'classic', Tela. I'm Ok with that. I've, seen that rock on here a couple times, but it always tickles me. I was glad to see it again. Then there's this:

Nice work, Bob. You seem to have it rolling now (sorry for the pun) in that immaculate shop of yours. I don't have a lot of time to get on any more, but when I take a quick glance I've been seeing your batches pop up pretty regularly. You spin a lot of rock, though, are you finding 'the process' enjoyable still?
Nice bunch of Crazy Lace, with a few Bahia interlopers, and maybe a piece of coral??? Was trying to keep up with the spinning plate. Good stuff!

Some nice material there. I'm a big fan of Pietersite.

Beautiful pieces Randy! They don't get much play on the board because us mere mortals rarely encounter it. This reminds me of a story - I don't harbor many regrets in general but one of them might be from three years ago at the PowWow in Quartzsite there was a dealer who had bought an enormous 'barn find' collection of nothing but KY agates and was selling it off mostly by the pound. I don't remember what his price/lb was but it was pretty expensive at the time. Imagine a large outdoor fleamarket corner space with maybe eight full length folding tables completely covered with nothing but KY agate. The problem was I found him after spending my way through the whole show and did not have much money left to get anything more than a few slabs. So... my regret is being poor I hear ya, Tommy. They want a bunch of money for polished agate halves at these shows. I'm talking anywhere from $400-$1500 for most. There were some small, less than impressive agates to be had in the rough from a couple vendors, but nothing I had to have. The guy I took your brother to see charges 5X the amount at shows, compared to when I go see him at his place.

Pretty agates! I am not normally a "yellow" person, but I do like it in the KY agates with the grey for some reason. Glad you can appreciate the beauty in our prized state agate. It is extremely difficult to find a good place to look for it, then you have to know what to look for when you get there. I don't have the time, so I rely on locals who do to get my material.

Your on Garage Rocker . Yes, certain we would have a memorable time. We would stay out of Florida to avoid their strict DNR officers. Those guys could sniff plant collectors a mile away. Played cat and mouse with those guys for 20 years and never got caught. Almost.... jamesp , you "Almost" never got caught, or almost got caught? Knowing you, the cat/mouse game only added to the thrill of the chase.
Randy Garage Rocker , don't let this opportunity pass you by. You guys will have a blast! And then, of course you will have to share photos here
Jean, I only hope I will be able to get away when the time comes. Too good to pass up. I can picture it now...

This sounds like something out of my comfort zone. Heat, bugs, snakes, gators, crazy carnivorous vegetation...I think I want to do it. If you need, or want, a collecting partner on one of your trips, give me a few day's notice and I'll head down there. Kentucky boys are gritty, you'd handle it well Randy. Easy to get lost in low country, the moss grows on all 4 sides of the tree, cloudy days without compass/GPS/sun are a test of directional instinct. Navigation maps for lowlands often use the 4 seasons of star constellations meaning night travel if you get lost or are trying for a destination. Would love to have your company. Tickled in fact. We'd have a riot. I'm sure it would be an experience! Please let me know when and I'll try my best to make it there.

I am looking forward to going way back in the deep south swamps this year and collecting a sampling of carnivorous plants this warm season. This sounds like something out of my comfort zone. Heat, bugs, snakes, gators, crazy carnivorous vegetation...I think I want to do it. Great set, Tommy. I always love the Needles Blue, but I really love the capture in that Polychrome Jasper this time around. The Rhyolite and TabuTabu ain't half bad either.
