That last piece should turn out nice. I cut one that had similar coloring and tumbled it. The two pieces:

I want! My problem is I want a kitty that has no prospect for a home. I want a kid to knock on the door with box of kitties. Every time I think we will get one- we don't! All my prior cats have been strays or picked up from the pound. Paying for a cat was a foreign idea to me too.

Very nice rocks, too many nice ones to pick a fave. Glad you found these and shared. Quite the show! As a side ... Where do you get your rough? Thanks Ken, these are the top picks from a few batches. I've kind of burned out on taking photos of each batch, so I'll likely end up doing three or four 'best of' threads through the year. I haven't bought rough from a vendor in a long time. I grab misc. boxes from folks on the forum, when I see something I like. Also, there is a member here that works with nicer material that holds all their end cuts, scraps and 'less than perfect' cabbing/sphere material for me. Last time, I received two LFRBs of material. That's where a lot of my more unique tumbles come from and why my batches are always a variety bag.

#23 is my favorite; that is AMAZING. How you got it so perfect without that stuff undercutting everywhere just blows my mind. Your cat, also, is just the most adorable flurf. Wonderflurfs are fantastic. <3 Thanks! That #23 came from a large fossilized fern that I got in a box from a member here. It is actually very solid and tumbled much like any agate or pet wood, no undercutting at all. Makes an interesting tumble. Here is a whole thread about that one: Tempskya

I'm always impressed with the uniform tumbling size pieces you end up with. My pieces aren't quite as nicely shaped when I bust up material either. I end up breaking it down just big enough to get on my tile saw and then shape tumbles from there. Takes longer, but I don't run the volume you do.

If you made me pick a favorite, I'd fail. Can't do it. Outstanding!

Love all the colors! Great work, as always. The Tiffany, Prudent Man and Charoite do it for me.

#15 resembles Winston Churchill in profile, that or Jack Benny. All are excellent, no favorite. Ah, I see this guy Nailed it!

"Hi,Garage Rocker, first thanks for everything you did to help me up load pictures when I first joined. That said,...... great pictures, even greater polish. I am guessing image #15 is a bee-keeper under attack. Cheers, johnw" Thanks johnw, glad to see you found a home here. Many new members we try to help along don't end up staying active. I think I can get behind your bee-keeper suggestion, too. Can't say I always see what you do, but this one's pretty straightforward.

I'm impressed with how well your tiger eye held up. Good on you. For me, that's one material that seems to develop a pit after trying to get rid of another. Well done. I've found it easier to manage if I sacrifice a little material and trim it into these regular, rectangular shapes. They didn't have any pits or cracks when they went into stage 1, so they probably only spent 3-4 weeks in coarse grind. This is one of the few materials I don't mind seeing in the more angular shape.

Drummond Island Rocks MsAliYeah man, those are some slick Montanas. The two in 8 and 9 are wedge shaped and you can see through that clear layer on the edge. Had my eye on those for a while. #15 has all those well-defined spots on different planes. Pretty cool looking. Thanks! Randy

That wood looks great! You definitely got the shine on those rocks. Now you can mess around with your process to dial in the particular result you want.

Great pics, Dave. I've thoroughly enjoyed the two recent raptor threads. If I can't get that close, I guess these pics are the next best thing. Thanks for sharing! Thanks Randy. When we talk next, I'll have to tell you the story about my issues with the camera. I had a "malfunction" of sorts, and I didn't originally take it in with me. Glad I was able to get it sorted out. Glad you got it worked out. Hopefully, it was nothing wrong with the camera or, more importantly, the lens. Lens cap? We'll talk soon and I'll get the scoop.
