That just sounds bad. I had found a 10k gold wire earring with little hearts. I should have took a picture of it but to anxious to play with that little bit of gold. So on a whim I made some little stacking rings with silver and 10k gold. Some in the making. The first 3. One more set of 4, and the little hearts I cut off the earring I managed to save. Cut them apart and put the back together to make this little pendant. It's about the size of a dime. Fun little trinkets,

Scratching my head, wondering why why why. More weight than I thought, when I went to drive away all I could see is asphalt in the rear view mirror. Hope it was worth it? Got it unloaded. Not bad minimum mess. I will be going back tomorrow for the saw. Can't wait to start going through them.

Hello everyone. Thank you for the advice. A little more about the rocks. The man who sold them to me did not collect them him self. He was doing a job for the original owner. He gave them to him along with a good home made saw. At the time he was interested in lapidary, but over the next 25-30 years he never really did nothing with them. Then we met,we made some trades for some wire wrapped pendants, then I didn't hear from him for almost a year. A couple weeks ago he contacted me to see if I was interested in the material, honestly my curiosity got the better of me, for what I had already got made me hope for some special stuff in them barrels. It was kinda frustrating to finish the deal but in the end we shook hands, and he watched as I loaded the rocks. I need to go back for the saw that suckered heavy. In the end it was a good deal for both of use, cross my fingers hope for some surprises, Evey good rock trip starts here. Lol.

$125 per barrel. If he doesn't like that price, you can always go higher. Gotta figure your time if you have to unpack them and go through to see exactly what you're getting. Thanks that sound fair. There is 3 barrels smaller than the 50gal Size. 1milk create and the saw, I pretty much have to buy them as is without looking in them any further . I think it will be worth the gamble not to mention fun.

Thanks for the update. From what you posted before, there should be some great materials there. I can't imagine what might be in them barrels? What I picked out was on the upper part of 1 of the barrels. And what I moved around in that barrel you can see some really great stuff. What would be a good offer to him?thank you.

Hello everyone. It has been awhile since I talked with the guy with the steel drums collection, how ever I spoke with him about a week ago. And he offered to sell me the drums of rock and a homemade rock saw. The material posted here is a sample of what I hand picked.there is lots of slabs and slablets .and the rocks are so dirty you really can't see what they are until you clean them off
So. My question is how much do I pay? I was trading for rocks with his son. His son told him if he needed the money to sell them to me. So I'm kinda in the middle now. To buy them or not. There maybe over 500lb.

Well after some thought and sketching and input from some of you. I came up with exactly what I did not think or plan. I had planned out a Rhodonite pendant with a piece of dangling turquoise. After getting things laid out. It turned into a Rhodonite eye with a turquoise tear drop. I guess? No turning back now. I just went with it. In this last photo the top right image shows the image of the pendant it was going to be. I stamped my love in the band.

How about a piece of turquoise. A color that compliments almost anything .if not recur the entire stone. Very nice work and good luck.

I am thinking 1 setting 2 stones, their energy drew them together because both pieces where intended for other thing's, sitting at my bench looking at the rhodonite. I took out the turquoise and bam I knew they had to stay together.

Seriously cool.something to look into. Looks like the silver is stamped shaped and put together. To bad we where only born two hands. When doing this I imagine how many finished edges there is on a piece like that. Thanks for sharing this.

I wonder if you can get a better polish on that rhodonite? I will do a final polish on it before I set it. This is my first time working rhodonite. Cut up a little chunk so I have some to play with. It does take a great shine.

What would you do with these? Just wondering? That's why I love creativity. You could give 10 people the same stone same silver and have 10 different finished pieces. Lately I have started some piece's with and ideal and it turns in to some thing else along the way. Any thoughts?
