At my very first show, a customer picked up a Tiffany cab to purchase & dropped it 4 inches onto a velvet cloth. It broke. They were about to hand me $50 for it! I eventually glued it back together, touched it up, wrapped it & sold it about 4 or 5 years later. Lynn Ouch! Now I'm wondering if this one would be ok glued together? I was close to finishing the shaping, but it still would have to run through the rotary... Depending on the break, it may be possible to glue it back together, finish sanding it & have no evidence of the break. Lynn

ᎡᎵᏔᎻ Mike made the shaft for me quite a few years ago. I think it was under $100 shipped to me. Any good local machinist should be able to make you one. Lynn

Very cool! Those are spikier than what I'm used to. I also like the weathered Brain at the top of the second picture.
You can tumble them a little or a lot for different contrasts between polished peaks & rough valleys.
Clean them up by tumbling them for a short time with no grit. Maybe add some detergent. Lynn

julieooly - I heat the slab or cab with a 100 watt lamp for an hour or so. It gets too hot to touch. Then apply Hxtal. Then continue with the heat for 3 or more hours. The heat seems to draw the Hxtal into the stone. It may take more than one application as I grind down the cab. Lynn

Don't give up on fractured slabs. Look into Hxtal for stabilizing them. Lynn

Drummond Island Rocks I don't use a Genie, but my last 2 wheels are 1,200 & 3,000. Some agates are done at 3,000, some I polish with Cerium Oxide on the edge of a hard felt wheel. Because those higher grits exist, I felt that I might get a better polish by going to 8,000, but I'm happy with the polish I get. I get lots of people (including lapidaries) wondering how I get such a good polish. Lynn

It also looks like a variation of Snakeskin jasper, which I think is from Australia. Lynn

Does anyone recognize what brand of cab rest this is? It measures 19 3/4" from outside edge to edge. In other words, the tray it fits on would be aprox. 19 3/4" wide inside. TIA Lynn

That's some great Rocky Butte. I picked up a couple of killer slabs of it last year at the Denver show. Ask me if I've gotten around to cutting it yet! ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) Lynn

I like that metal fan!
BTW, my machine was bare metal when I bought it. I painted it hammertone gray. Lynn

Thanks for all your advice. I took the weighs off the motor shaft.
I was going to put the fans on, but discovered they don't fit the shaft. Either Lot-O used different motors with different diameter shafts, or the motor is a replacement. Oh well. Lynn

Dave, does yours also have the weights on the motor shaft? Lynn No. The only thing that looks like a weight is the large piece that is on the fan as shown in your photo. There are no weights on the motor shaft. If you need a photo, let me know. No need for a photo. Unlike Scott - NRG, I believe you even without photographic evidence. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Lynn

Lynn zarguy, you made me look. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) My Lot-O was bought at the beginning of the year. I just pulled a fan, and a weight is mounted like yours in the photo. I'm referring to the larger piece that is in your photo. My fan also has a silver band around the shaft collar like yours, but I'm not so sure that's a weight. I'm thinking that particular piece adds to the constriction to the shaft being inserted into the collar. I see nothing in your photo that looks any different from what I have. In the long run, just line up the large weights. Hope this helps. Dave, does yours also have the weights on the motor shaft? Lynn

I've owned a Lot-o for a few years that I got used. It has a small weight attached to the inside of each fan. I bought another used Lot-O that was missing the fans. It has weights attached to the motor shaft. I ordered some Lot-O fans. They arrived with weights inside. Do you recommend that I use both the fan weights & the motor weights, or just one or the other? To use both, I would have to grind off a bit of the corners of the motor weights to fit inside the fans. ![](http://www.playzar.com/rthphotos/Lot-O-fans.jpg) Lynn
