My first thought was who would wear coffins? Then it dawned on me that Halloween is near. All goood looking. Thanks. Thanks Pat! Yeah, I was going with a bit of a Halloween vibe with the coffins and thought the black jade would be a good choice.

Very nice work, John. My favorite is your pair of Noreena earrings. Those will go fast! Thank you Gary, I appreciate it.

Beautiful pieces. Your work always is beautiful. I really like the blue chalcedony piece (and the razzleberries look yummy, too)! Thank you Robin! And yes, they were yummy! I get a few of them...neighbors three boys get a lot more😂

My real job has been keeping me busy lately, like every summer and fall, but last week we finished planting all of our research plots and I took a couple days off to be creative and work in the shop. It’s been too long! I thought I’d share what I got done. Wyoming jade coffin pendant. wyoming jade coffin earrings . Some amazing blue chalcedony I collected in Montana and some noreena it felt really nice to light up the torch again and burn out some cobwebs!

Thanks for the link Tela. I had no idea about these. I've been using small muslin buffs with Tripoli and I love the 3M radial bristle discs (which I'm a huge fan of). I'll need to look at this further.

I don't know a thing about those. Are they meant to be loaded with polishing compound or used as-is?

That’s definitely a win! I like it and it opens doors to a lot of different possibilities.

I think what you wrote to him was fair, and hopefully gives him pause to think a bit. I think you did the right thing with leaving no negative review, but offering a bit of constructive criticism via a convo.

Yes forging .... Start from scratch and form a beautiful knife, blade and handle.... I agree, I think it would be awesome to do. Like whyofquartz points out, the realities of it might get in the way, at least for me.

Do you mean do the forging as well as the stone scales? I bought a couple knife blanks a while back...finished one with Mary Ellen jasper handles. It was a fun project for sure, but I’m certainly no expert. I have another blank on the shelf but haven’t had time to work on it yet, though I do have the stone for the handles. I watch a ton forged in fire though and really want to get a forge one day!
