There are people that travel around with that show and will tell you how many Dozen/Hundred times they have seen it, Yes it is an amazing show but Get A Life. This production travels around between cities in 12 tractor-trailer trucks then requires over 50 people and 2 days to set it up. Here a couple of photos from the Load-In last week. This is taken from the lighting position over the audience And from onstage Here is one of the automated towers that has a spotlight on top, there is a tower on each side of the stage and several times they travel to centerstage until they are touching. This was taken from the top of my tower at the spotlight position Me looking out at the audience and orchestra about a minute before the show started A great place to see the performance but the sound could have been better

Yes , I very much love my job and enjoy going to work everyday. Starting Tuesday we have two days of Sesame Street Live. Friday and Saturday is Three Dog Night and Rodney Carrington.
The movie is very good and the singing is not pantomimed, The live performance is more powerful though. This was my favorite song "At The End Of The Day".

I work at a 2000 seat theater as a stagehand doing lights and sound. This last week we have been doing the Broadway show Les Miserables. My job has been to run a Spotlight from the top of a tower Onstage. Plus the 30 foot tower is an automated setpiece and moves across the stage frequently, rather exciting at times, and a great viewpoint to see the show from.
I'm sitting on top of that tower right now waiting for our 9th and final show in our theater. This is a hugely great show that everyone should see. After tonight, I will have run spotlight for 33 performances of Les Mis.

So far when I am tumbling in stage 1 course, I have been cleaning out the 6 pound barrel and adding a cup of course 46/70 grit, then halfway through the week I'll pop open the barrel and usually the grit has broken down enough to recharge, add another cup of course grit to the mix. Well, I was doing cleanouts today and wondered why I didn't just go ahead and put 2 cups of course grit in there and run it for the whole week, saving the time of recharging halfway through. It is 2 cups of grit either way. Is there a difference ?
So this time, I added 1 1/2 cups and will let it roll for the whole week . . .

I would think that you still might need to lower the vibration amplitude by decreasing the counter-balance weight. Even though you lower the RPM's , you still have the same force being applied on each single vibration. In effect the counter-balance weight is your rheostat, decreasing the striking power or amplitude of each vibration. For softer rocks that would be needed. Of course that's also roles of plastic pellets or ceramics or thick slurry or a barrel loaded to 85%, deaden the individual impacts. Those methods become the impact modulator, especially in the Rotary tumblers that are not as easy to dial down. >> I did want to make a point that high reversal speeds quickly effect impact even with a small amplitude. << In Physics you will learn that when you double the frequency, you have twice the energy.

For those vibratory tumblers that don't use a motor and are tied to the line frequency, I think a diode inline with the AC supply would make the vibrations half as strong. Don't do this to an AC motor, you could kill it.

I love the plastic colanders from Kroger Grocery. They have 1/4 inch holes that keep the rocks in and let the plastic beads easily pass through to the sink and then to the metal screen under the sink before the settlement tank. The second screened colander catches the beads and other small small pebbles. Never had a problem with marked up rocks. Cleanouts in this sink is a pleasure. This morning I cleaned out two 6 pound barrels (beads in one) and a 3 pound barrel and it took less than an hour including rolling them for 15 minutes each in plain water for cleaning before the next stage, and sorting rocks for the next stage. Easy and not messy at all It's actually a three step separation . . . 1- colander with large holes 2- screened colander 3- settlement tank then on to the waste bucket I am so surprised that I don't see anyone else doing something like this. Maybe it could be a tutorial ? forum.rocktumblinghobby.com/thread/77707/built-sink-cleanout-grit-recovery

This is from Salty Nut Brewery in Huntsville Alabama They make the best Ciders and have awards to show for it. The apples for the cider are grown 30 miles North in Hazel Green, about 5 miles from Tennessee. On the left is some wonderful Pineapple Cider and on the right is some awesome Pomegranate cider. Here I am in the back Biergarten at the brewery, a very nice shaded area with a stage that I frequently provide sound and lights for. I have picked up some stark white granite rocks from there that are rather soft and rounded out in just 1 week, They may be manufactured. They are rolling in 220 grit right now and I will have them out of polish in about a month. My favorite beer they brew is HAWT Blonde, not too strong and very tasty. They serve it on-tap but recently started canning it, so I carry some home with me everytime. I am a moderator on a Renewable Energy Forum and they make wind power generators there. The most popular turbine they make is a "Horizontal Axis Wind Turbine" (HAWT), so I tell those guys that they are making that beer for them. www.saltynutbrewery.com/index.htmlThis Brewery is one of 5 brewerys on the same road and within 1/4 mile of each other, together they are known as Brewery Row. One of them even brews Liquor.
