This is the LFRB of bulk from notjustone screened. Blue colander for BB's. Fine steel screen for SiC 20/30 and smaller. 70% is SiC 20/30 and smaller (5 gallon bucket, full white square tray, and black plant pot) 20% is BB size. (white square tray lower left) 10% is 1/4" to 3/8" (white square tray upper left) If I use 1 cup of 1/4" to 3/8" with 1.5" to 2.5" rocks I may have a tablespoon of big chunks left in a 6" PVC/6 pound barrel. ****I use a fresh charge of colloidal clay every clean out/recharge. If I use 1 cup of BB's with 1.5" to 2.5" rocks I have no chunks of left. ****Fresh colloidal clay each clean out/recharge. Keep in mind I use about 5 gallons of colloidal red clay about every 3 months running five 6 pound barrels. Either way, you could toss the 30% large stuff and still come out way cheaper at $34/50 pounds. The BB size is actually my favorite because it takes a full 7 days to break down. I have about used it up. The receptionist is asking the management if they want to sell in units of 50 pound bags. And I need to tell them if there is enough interest here to fool with the small quantities. It seems not thus far. MrMike and Wooferhound I will send you a MFRB of unscreened to try. I think what your gonna find is that 90 plus percent of the forum will not be able to use this. its appeal will be to the hard pvc barrel and large tumbler guys. but for those guys its a HUGE reduction in grit cost.

Delivered by me ? Lol, hold your breath till you see a deep purple color. Actually I was hoping to meet you there when they break up the pallet I would absolutely jump on 50 or 100 pounds that would be the way to go pay that pallet breaking fee only once

I would think this would work damn good in a 40 lbs barrel that's a lot of rock weight to crush down the bigger chunks.

Before going further, this is BULK SiC. Many of you may not want to roll it. I am having success with it. Liking the time release aspect a lot. I also add more liberal doses. WARNING - it does wear PVC barrels faster than SiC 30, but wears rocks faster too !! Supplier is with in 100 miles so I am picking up 14 - 50 pound bags of bulk SiC. The cost breakdown was this: 14 bags - $372 so $26.60 per bag. Should be a lifetime supply. Cost to split 64 bag pallet - $95 Total - $467 I am not sure if they will be interested in shipping bags in a LFRB. I got what I needed, if anyone else is interested in buying bag quantity I will ask them about single bag quantities. ETA: I now split coarse grind into two steps. I hate coarse grind. Step 1 - 55 RPM with bulk SiC. Same ole 4 - 6 week add weekly/clean out weekly. Usually with a 3/4 to 1 pound rock. Step 2 - 30 RPM with screened bulk SiC 30-50 and smaller (I screen it myself) and run 7 to 10 days for finish before vibe. No big rock. ETA 2 : I don't remember rolling more than 5 weeks and getting well rounded agate type stones with this method. I'm still adding it straight from the pail not screening. have you tried it both ways and noticed a difference?

as a side note if it is similar to the stuff I get I would not recommend it for smaller barrels. they simply will not be able to crush the big chunks of sic. and my soft barrel ar-12 barely breaks down sic30 so I didn't even try it in that 1.

I can tell you that the uv-10 is pretty aggressive. so popping a mini bowl on there might result in some harsh tumbling. the fuller I fill my bowl the more dampening effect it has. of course your 2500 rpm vs our 3000. if I were you I would order the uv-10 replacement bowl and use the knock off for polish. might last quite a while as the abrasive polish isn't going to eat it up as fast. I'm wondering if because of the narrower diameter in the mini bowl there'll be less agitation due to the weaker centrifugal forces I don't know one way to find out throw something soft like obsidian in there.

Hello randys and welcome to the forum. Great build you got going on. One word of wisdom is that you really need another barrel dedicated to the polish stage. The SiC particles get embedded in the rubber/plastic and you will not get a good polish. I do have another barrel two of the AR-12 Barrels wow that sure puts my homemade tumbler "woody" to shame.
