14 and 16 are tops, but I dig the fortification/plume split personalities too. Seems unfair to the rest of them, cause they'd be memorable in anything other than an all-star lineup like that one. Thanks. Those two are top contenders for sure. The fact that after all of these replies nobody picked #19 as favorite proves your point. In any other batch that one would have stood out. Chuck Perfect example. Not exactly the kind of rock you normally pass over without noticing!

Love the idea! Did your motors ever have any issues with the moisture?
I was looking for a cheap way to polish slabs. I built a single station knock off of yours... worked great for 20 minutes before the motor crapped out on a brand new grinder. When I was switching pads, it didn't' start back up. Locked up and humming but no rotation. Had it pretty well protected from water, maybe it was just a dud.

vegasjames @bucknutty I live in Fallon. Been wanting to do some checking out of that area. Just got a vehicle a couple weeks ago that should make the outing feasible. Would love to join in if you're amenable. Let me know when you'll be around. My schedule is pretty open, except I won't be around from about May 20 to May 28 (even that can be rearranged slightly.) Argh ETA: can't figger out why I can't tag @bucknutty ETA2: Think I figgered it out. Bucknutty At this point I'm looking at either June 15 or June 22, depending on what week I can get off work.

If I ask people where I live they just say any smooth rock is flint!!!!! They look at me like I'm crazy if I say words like chalcedony, geodes, agate, even quartz. So I need all the help I can get I hear you. Welcome to your online support group.

That is awesome. It's amazing that it can hold itself up at those angels without snapping in the wind

Tommy gave me the coordinates, so I'll be able to put the route in GPS. If you're around in June, I wouldn't complain about having company, but I should be OK with the info he gave me. Thanks for your help.

I may head up that way next month some time. If I do I can show you. Really hard to explain how to get there with the various turns on a dirt road. If you're out there in mid-June I'd love to take you up on that. I'm locked into the week of June 15-21, only time I can get free to make the trip.

Planning a trip up that way, never been there before. Anyone familiar with the area mind sharing some info on where to look? Feel free to PM.
Thanks!

I was about to post an awe-filled comment about a few particular cabs as I was scrolling down, but I definitely hit sensory overload about halfway through. Wow
