Hello, I'm not sure how this forum works, and I hope I'm not offending anyone by joining your forum, if I am my apologies and I'll discontinue posting. I wanted to try and reach out to some of you to let you know that my name is Michael Arnaud I am Ed Arnaud's younger brother. I'm not sure how but someone was able to reach out to Ed's older brother Richard Arnaud and he pointed me towards this forum. I initially saw a thread by a member I believe that he (or she) goes by Rock Junkie or something of that nature, but I haven't been able to navigate back to it after joining so I thought I'd try this way to find those that have asked questions about Ed and his arrangements. I have been directly involved with working with County to secure Ed and finalize some things that process is mostly done, there are still a few things I need to do. I will stand by and see if those members that knew him and started a thread on him can find me through this post. I did read where some of you posted on his memory page at the mortuary site, I went there and read those posts and that touched me deeply and I want to reach out to those of you that knew him, perhaps share information back and forth. Hopefully this will suffice to find those that were asking, I will keep looking to find the original thread I saw when I first looked at this forum. Again, if this is totally wrong for me to be here, I mean no offense just trying to share information and perhaps get some on my brother Ed Arnaud. Sincerely, Michael

Hi Michael, thanks for posting. Ed spent some time with us, was a true friend. We live in the Phoenix area but won't be home for another week. If there is any kind of memorial I would like to attend, and I have some photos I can share as well. You can message me on my profile page.

I am deeply touched by all of you and thank you for welcoming me but moreover for your support, friendship and love for my brother. Although it was tough for us all when Ed listed himself as having no family, I assure you all he did, and we love and miss him. It pains my heart that we didn't know he was sick or that he had even passed. Tela, I will reach out to you privately and fill you in on all I know and give you more background. I assure the members there is nothing I will share with Tila that can't be shared with the rest of you. I will tell you all that after months of dealing with all manner of legal issues, my brother Richard and I picked up Ed today, he is here with me in my office (obviously cremated) and we have not made any final decisions as to what to do with his ashes but we will be scattering them somewhere here in AZ. the orginal thought was Show Low, AZ but now knowing about this group I want to get impute from Tila and the group as many of you had experiences with my brother here in AZ that I didn't have or for that matter know of...and that's OK. Please bear with me, my wife and I just got home from a long day, we attended a seminar this evening and I work for USPS so 4:00AM comes early! I promise to provide more information to you all. Again, thank you all for welcoming my brother into your group, it was obviously very special to him and by all things I've read, you are all very special people as well and for that his family is very grateful and humbled by your outpouring! Tela I will write you early in the morning!

I know that was tough.
Michael, I want you to know that Ed would tell stories and family often came up. Esp his Mama. At no time did I ever get the sense that he didn't have family, that he had bad relations or even that he was estranged from his family. He never spoke ill of anyone that I know of.
Please know that no one here at RTH means ANY disrespect towards your family- AT ALL. He was called "indigent", so we assumed he was estranged or whatever. I hope our actions have not offended you and yours in any way.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Welcome indeed Michael arno58 . Ed (his forum name on here was "mohs") was a funny guy, and nice to have around.
I for one miss him here.
FYI- "Mohs" refers to the mineral hardness scale that is familiar to all rock hounds.
I wanted to add, that I totally understand why Ed would have told the authorities that he had no family or friends - he didn't want to burden anyone. Seems to me, to have been in his nature & I respect that immensely ! Thank you for reaching out to us, my sympathies to you & your family.
Patty
