Please sign up for the trip. A small deposit will be required by the end of the year to reserve the cabin. Only 10 people total will fit in the cabin so let me know asap so I can put your name on the list!! Please PM me the following information; Name Address Phone Numbers (Home and Cell) Email address Dates you will be attending Members names that you will be bringing with you and whether they are children. Cabin, tent or RV.
We will have door prizes again this year so if anyone wants to donate to the cause, please let me know! I will make sure you get some WWR agate in return! I am planning on flying and then renting a truck in El Paso. I can meet others there and share if you like!
More information will follow as I plan.............LOL!! I will continue to update this first post so you wont have to go through the whole thread to find the updates.
For you newbies, there is a thread in the Members Photos that has pics and info from last WWR Blitz. Tons of beautiful agates are there and the fellowship is unbelievable!!

*****UPDATE******** Nov 19th 2007
Tents will be allowed up by the cabin but will cost $25 per night. Because of the electic use and kitchen use by all camping up there, the Woodwards have to cover the cost. All members staying in the cabin will be required to pay a $50 deposit to Jan as soon as possible. PM me for the address and information to include with your payment.
To Clarify Above - If you tent up by the cabin, it will cost you $25 per night. If you camp down by the main house it will cost you the regular tent camping rate.

Please read the email below from Jan Woodward. I have a feeling this might be a better set-up!!
Hi Sheri! The cabin is available March 8 - 14. It sleeps 7 now, not 10. Price is $150.00 per day for 7 people. We have NOT, unfortunately, put in a campers' bathroom at the creek. So what we want to do is have all the tent campers camp here at the main headquarters on the grassy OLD rv park (it no longer handles rv's). It is right next to the rockhound bathroom with hot/cold shower, potty, sink. (also hair dryer & mirror!) Those in RV's can park in the new RV park, right next to the tent campers. Tents are still $10 per night, RV's still just $25 per night (for 2 people). Let me know when folks are arriving so we can decide which night would be best for a nice dinner for everyone. We'll have that here at the main headquarters out in the front yard (where it's nice and grassy, shady, and has electricity!) Thanks! J

Don't have my truck anymore, though. :-/S

Okay, put me down as a ?? for 3/8-10. I'm hoping for one more additional day but I don't know if I can swing it. Technically, I won't start accruing actual vacation until 4/5...but they do believe in comp time here.
Tent. And I'll either drive (yup, 4WD vehicle) or fly and rent a 4WD vehicle. Depends on the price of gas at the time!

We will be in a Dodge 4WD doolie. DH decided against bringing the horses. But, we will bring a 4-wheeler. I know it has to stay on the road, but shoot...better than nothing. Oh...and far as I know, Dan will be there (tent) too.

Sheri, Rod and I want to go but we would rather sleep by the cabin, actually, even further upstream kinda where that concrete dam is. Would you ask Jan if we can camp there instead of at the Headquarters? It shouldn't matter if we aren't fussing about a bathroom, we can bring my little Army surplus shower, (thats the one we had to use after the first one broke down at Burro Creek!!) If she is ok with that, put us down for 2 in a tent. Yipee, biscuits.........Here we come. Hey Ed, Beefjello, Deanf, Sheri or anyone else that is wanting to go to WWR and might be looking for alternative traveling options, maybe we can all carpool so we don't have to pay to ship our rocks home. If you would consider driving as far as our place, we could rent a vehicle and take it on a little adventure.......Kinda like the poor car we rented to take to Utah. For a compact car it sure did haul a ton of rocks, or at least 400 lbs both ways. OR better yet, maybe all go in on renting an RV for a week.

I, too, would rather camp near the cabin...I'm so glad that Ed is coming!
I will, however, need to hitch a ride to the rocks with any/everyone who has a truck/SUV. Alas, my little "economy car" only has 5.5" of ground clearance.

Not to worry Nancy, we all look after each other on these trips. First rockhounding trip? Let me give you some good advice; don't show up with a brand new rock hammer unless you like to be teased!
Susan, if Gil is going to be able to make it maybe you could drive down to his house and the three of us could drive down together in "Burrito".

Careful Blarney, someone may just take you up on that. We are talking about taking a train to San Antonio. And either meeting you there or heading on to Alpine by train, (if possible, still in the planning stage) I have never traveled by train, and like the sound of it.
