Tony, you should take some pictures of the boulders you hauled home, or snowdog! He found a huge boulder, tied it to the back of his quad and off he rode.

I slabbed some stuff up today and took some pics, but then my computer took a dump. I am getting my harddrive reformatted so I am using my old laptop to logon. I will not be able to post pics till I get my computer back, but I have taken some pics of the boulders. I cut one today that looked alot like the light mozarkite that I have cut for John. This stuff is varied and gorgeous. I will post pics as soon as I can........................Tony

Hi Everyone,
This is the full list of winners, other than the ones that have already received their prizes.
Tonyterner.........Wheels Mitzi...................Saw Chassroc.............Diamond Pacific Gift Certificate Keith (KAP).........Flat Rate Box of material Mary Case..........Jade Necklace
Rodney and I would like to give Santa, oops......I mean Snowdog, a very special Thank you. You are by far one of the most fun loving and easy going people I have ever met. I know you made everyone that came on this trip very happy, your generosity is overwhelming. Sands, I really enjoyed getting to know you better and we are both looking forward to your next visit.
Jeff, you make a great accountant, wish you lived here. Tony, Tony, Tony, you are crazy, I can't wait until this spring when we can get together again in Utah, hope your Dad can make it for that trip too. Deb, you and your husband are welcome to visit us anytime you can make it Phoenix, I wish you would of been here to take some of our rocks home with you. Ed, Steve, Sands, Snowdog Jeff, Tony and Roxy didn't even put a dent in our rock pile, maybe next time. Cheers to everyone that made the trip, looking forward to doing it again soon.
PS, Thanks for the warm welcome you all gave Roxy, she was an easy one to convert. We met at the beginning of summer a few years back and we turned her into a nocturnal creature, hunting by night is the only way to survive the Arizona heat. She's part polar bear, she came from Montana, which is right next door to the north pole on my Atlas. Sorry if we about killed you and Ed with the unusually warm weather we had during the trip.
I just cut into some more of my finds from the trip so I will post the pics later this morning, I am really excited about a few of them. Thats all for now....

I was going to write up a detailed report of my thoughts on this trip, but I know everybody would rather see photos of the rocks we found.(Including me!) So I'll just sum it up in a short version. I flew down with Steve, who I already had met a few times, and had a great time talking rocks and yukking it up, and when we got to the baggage claim, we met Skipper. After collecting our bags, we got our rental SUV and headed out to Jamie's house, never having a lull in the conversation. There we met snowdog, Tony, Roxy, sandsman, and of course, Jamie and Rodney. We started our collecting at their house and after everything got packed, we headed over to the agate pile where we were allowed to pick through the pile and pay roughly $1/lb for some of the finest agates around. From there we headed out to Burro Creek and set up camp.
What happened during the next 4 days I was there, was what these trips are all about; going out collecting rocks, but more importantly, getting to know each and every one of these friends I never met. It's much more than just putting a face to the name, it's creating a friendship that would never have happened by typing here on the forum. Each day, different groups of people would go in different directions spending the day collecting and then meeting up in the evening at the campground to share our finds and share a gourmet meal prepared by Jamie and various volunteers, followed by an evening sitting by the fire talking and having fun enjoying each other's company. Oh, and looking up at the stars looking for UFO's! ;D
Jamie and Rodney put a lot of work into making sure this trip was a success and I can't even think of a way to express my gratitude. But for now, a huge thank you to the both of you. And to the rest of the people who were there, it was a pleasure to scratch you off my list! To those who wanted to go this time but couldn't, all I can say is do whatever it takes to make the next trip, you won't be diappointed and you'll walk away memories you'll treasure forever. I've learned there are no barriers when it comes to rockhounds. Left wing or right wing, old or young, male or female, it just doesn't matter when it comes to enjoying each other's company at these get togethers. Hell, we even met a couple from Canada on this trip and after 2 days, a bond was formed with them.
See you on the next trip.

You know I couldn't agree with you more stoner.. *smiles* You left out alot of the coolest adventures in between.. but that's ok.. I guess rocks is the subject here , but If I would of known that jamie was going to go camping with a bunch of people she never met but on the INTERNET.. I would of told her she was crazy for even thinking of doing such a thing.. no wonder she didn't tell me.. lol.. good thing too i guess.. i probably wouldn't of gone.. but funny thing was I never could tell that you all never met until then.. I could of sworn you all were life long buddies reuniting again or something.. wow.. now that I think about it .. that was crazy.. crazy fun that is.. for sure I want to be in on another.. still learning the ropes and was grateful to several of you who took the time to show this obnoxious oddball what rock hunting was all about.. Not to mention meeting the rock mascot jasper what a cutie.. and poor taz.. I bet she's still wore out.. lol poor girl.. cuz i know I barely recovered ...I'm so glad and so motivated to start doing something with the rocks I found I can barely stand it.. thanks to deb1 i think his name is for the great tips on drills .. that helped me alot.. and I'm still looking for snow dog dave.. the one who was the most fun.. even if it was at my own expense.. lol I'm not used to alot of what I experienced out there.. usually a loner type but you all sure made it feel like family one way or another.. I still can't help but wonder if rocklicker used his sucker I made him for his flight.. lol jks.. was just too funny to pass up.. anyways.. I can't wait until next time.... ;D Roxy

I forgot to mention, I found most of these on the last day out and I was way south of the major agate field where everyone else was hunting. Has anyone heard from snowdog yet?

alrighty, a few more pics More stuff I grabbed at the agate pile, found a nice plume agate! This is one of my auction pictures so my agates are mixed in with some other stuff. I can't remember if I already posted this one or not but here it is again. Another thing I forgot to mention, Steve let me pick out some of his cabs and he is going to wrap them for me. I got to see him in action during the trip........He's a fantastic wrapper, I was amazed!

In addition to being the best cook, Jamie finds the best rocks.

Heck yeah, I saw her in action! She can spot agate from 50 paces at 20 mph! Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating....maybe! I'm beginning to fret about Snowdog...someone was going to call him, Sheri, was that you? Any luck?

All 19 FRB's came on Friday and I'm in agate heaven. Man, seeing all those made me wish were were all still there collecting rocks and hanging out. That was the best fun. I can't get over how nice it was to meet everyone. My heart is still in Arizona sitting by that fire chatting and sharing rocks. Here's some of the photos from my camera. Where we went to visit the rock pile. Pile is off the the right (Jamie, I'm not surprised you went back, If I had time I would have) Drooling RTHers going through the rock pile. Rodney, Tony, and Sheri making grub. Yum! The sleeping accomodations, shower in the background. All the comforts of home were here. And Sands made some kick ass coffee too! Ed showing off his new rock hammer. Tony checking out his haul. Check out those huge boulders he got! Daytime shot of his trailer. I think Arizona got a little lighter after he left. Ed and Sheri collecting in the creek near the campsite. Tony and Jeff with all the RTH member boxes. Now starts a trip beefjello (Brian) and I took on Sunday. It started out us getting back from a morning creek trip only to find that we missed a trip out to the Bagdad area! So we hopped in his truck and set off! Only thing is, neither of us had the book to get out there to meet the other RTHers so we ended up driving around looking for Pup (Debbie) and everybody. Pretty place but not much in the way of agate: After a number of stops with no luck, we were thinking of heading back. Then we wandered down a BLM road and found this place. The white-ish blobby rocks were a clue but then Brian kicked what he thought was a piece of foam from a cooler. Turns out it was a moss agate, and sitting right next to it was a whitish agate! We grabbed our picks and went to town! We found lots of yellow and golden mossy agates as well as some regular yellow ones. Some had orange and red. There was also a lot of very nice white ish, grey, and blue agates! Beef had great luck in a big section full of agates and I went off looking for more of the mossy ones down the wash. Here's Brian with some finds. Early on we found the remains of a cow caught in the monsoon, and that's where we got the name for this stuff: Dead cow agate. I refrained from licking the rocks here. Here's me holding up the find of the day. Lodged next to an nice creamy agate was this amazing poppyish yellow agate! It's full of little yellow orbs. Beef and the rocks from the day. We collected right up to dusk and were treated to this beautiful sunset. The end to a wonderful outing. By the way, we found that we ended up pretty close to Pup and everyone anyway. They were just down the road a ways.
