March is only 8 months away...not too early to start talking about ROCKSTOCK '09 aka the Woodward Ranch Blitz.
I really want Gil to be able to go this year, and would like to set the dates over his Spring Break. I think the rest of us should be able to work around that? Eh?
Only 8 months away!
I know the Hardcore Celtic Rockhound Crew (the HCRC) will be there...

Okay, my spring break is March 16th through March 20th. That means I can be at the Blitz any time from Saturday, March 14th through Saturday, March 21st. Barring anything drastic, I will be there this time. If anyone wants to ride with me we can split the cost for gas too. Thanks for thinking of me Susan.

Just a quick question, Can someone give me an idea of the costs involved? Other than getting there and lodging. I Googled and we live about 200 miles from there. I may not wait on the rest of you to go LOL Garry

Hi Garry and welcome to RTH. Depending where you stay, (tent, RV or in the cabin) the cost will vary but it is very reasonable. I tent camp and it's like ten bucks per night. As far as the rock is concerned, it's usually about two dollars per pound for the good stuff. Trey, the owner makes sure you get only the good rock and doesn't charge you for the bad. Hope you can make it. It's a heck of a lot of fun with all these people from RTH.

When we were there last March, Jan and Trey had just about completed the new cabin. They built it on the slab behind the existing cabin. I'm hoping it will be complete by next March. So there should be more cabin space for the next trip... The prices and camp site restrictions have changed a bit since the first Blitz.. Anyone thinking about going should check with Jan and Trey for prices and availability of camp sites and RV sites... Here's a link to the Woodwards web page which contains the contact info... www.woodwardranch.net/Dan

I e-mailed Jan Woodward this morning to get the details regarding costs and availability of the campsites and cabins. When I hear back from her I'll post the details here...

I sent Kim an e-mail asking her when her Spring break is. She hasn't responded. KIM WHERE ARE YOU?!
It would be great if we could arrange the dates so both Kim and Gil can go...I need to know soon so I can request the time off. Once I do, I cannot change my mind, so let's GIT R DONE.

Okay, I hear that Kim's Spring Break is the week before Gil's - the March 9 - 15/16. Dan's going to check with Jan on the availability of the cabin(s) and pricing this week, so we should know more then.
Current trip dates are sometime between March 9 - 21 (how's that for a gap in time!). In the past, it's run from Sunday to Saturday (or thereabouts), if that helps people plan.

For those of us that may not be able to make it ($$ to get there!) would it be possible to send out PO flat rate boxes, pretty please?? Like we did for Burro Creek and others? I drool everytime I see someone shares what they cabbed from Woodward Ranch!
