Well, it looks like I am not going to be able to make the WWR Blitz. In the last two weeks, everything that could go wrong has and as a result, the $ I set aside for the trip had to be spent on more immediate needs, esp if I wanted to continue having hot showers! Water heater went kapoot and have to buy two new tires so the truck will pass the state inspection. Had one new tire in the budget, but the other one and the water heater meant goodbye WWR trip.
And I won't even get into the freaking ants that have invaded my kitchen and that the lid on one of my 6# barrels blew off today! Thank goodness that barrel was rolling with Borax and not grit!
I am so disappointed! I have had all my stuff sitting in a pile waiting to be loaded up, my MP3 loaded with some great tunes for the stretch of road where there is no radio reception and have been so excited to meet everyone and collect some cool rocks!
The only good thing that has happen is BE found the Workforce. It mysteriously disappeared from her house. We knew it had been borrowed by somebody, but couldn't remember who and since we hadn't used it in a couple of years and it hadn't been returned, we figured it was gone for good. When she was helping her daughter sell puppies in front of the hardware store Saturday, a friend of hers came by and told her he had it! He had borrowed it from the guy we had loaned it to when he was redoing his bathroom floor. Then we remembered the original borrower had asked us if the other guy could use it for his floors. So, the wandering Workforce has returned home and is now sitting in my storage shed waiting for a new blade. I figured since my long overdue vacation had been shot all to hell, I would order a new Hot Dog blade and at least get some rock time in after work next week. Ain't the same as being there, but at least I can do something with rocks besides wait on my tumblers to do their thing. Also got busy and set up the cabbing machine so I can give that a try again. Hopefully with better results this time around!
I might rob a bank or the local Mini Mart and show up after all, but don't keep the lights on for me.
Ya'll have a ball and drink a cold one (or two) for me!

I am not going to be able to make the trip either. We are short handed at work and can't get the time off. If there is another get together next year, and with more planning, I will hopefully will make it. Looking forward to the trip photos.

I'm sorry to hear that you guys can't make it..... honestly. I plan to go again next year and I hope you all can make the trip. I think every rock hound should try to visit Woodward at least once.
We'll take lots of pics...

For those of you going...on Monday at 9:00 A.M., I will be meeting with Teri who will lead us to the Ritchie Ranch that Rodney mentioned about. It is a $5.00 fee with rocks at 75 cent per pound. Let me know either here, or PM me so that I can give her a rundown as to how many of us will be going to RR.
