1,000 plus miles is a long way to drive in one day. I will probably be showing up on Sunday the 15th.

Great news! I am working on plans to make this trip. Can someone please tell what the nearest airport would be?

Hey Tony -
Nearest airport is either El Paso or Midland/Odessa. I know Ed's flown in to El Paso, and Robert (rockds) has flown in to Midland/Odessa.

LOL - I don't think the creek behind the cabin is quite diving depth...

Tony, if you come in to El Paso, be sure to let me know. Ed and I will be driving out there together in my Explorer. Don't know if Jamie is going or not, but you can ride with us. Bring your diving equipment. We have awesome oceans out here in the Chihuahuan Desert.

Dave and I will be tenting it, right next to Don and Dorothy...may not be able to stay for the entire week, but we're looking forward to seeing whoever shows up. Can't afford the cabin, I'm afraid. S

I still don't know if I have to go to Mexico or not. If I do, then I'll only be able to be there 3 days (well, 2 1/2 days). I was told to plan as if I'm going to Mexico, but it might not happen.

okay.. I think we'll have to cancel the cabin rental. Most folks want to stay in a tent anyway and I prefer that as well. We'll be near Don and Dorothy this way too. Campsites in the RV area: $25.00/day Includes electricity and bathroom/shower access. Collected rock is still $2.00/lb I'll bring a lawn chair for Ed. Dan

I can bring an "extra" tent - but it's only big enough for ONE person.

I'll go ahead and bring a pop-up camper. It sleeps three individually (two curtained off beds, one open bed), or if people are willing to double up, there's a queen and a double. I wouldn't recommend more than 5 in it, though! Rates on the pop-up would be $12.50/night if there's two in there, $9/night if there's three in there. (It's $25/night for the first two, $2 for each additional person after.)
If you're like one of the beds in the pop-up, please let me know so I can plan ahead.

Should we start talking about food? Do we want to do a group meal each evening as we've done in the past or...? I'm considering bringing my charcoal grill... but it's pretty big. I don't even know if it will fit in the truck yet.
Llanna2Go and I will be bringing firewood, so that's covered.
For those that have not been to the Ranch in before:
Dogs are welcome.... there will be more than a few this time around.
Bring extra coolers if you have them, as we will not have access to a refrigerator. I will bring as many as I can. Ice can be purchased in Alpine.
March at WWR is very nice... the temps usually don't get higher than 80* and the nights can get chilly. You'll want to bring clothing that you can layer and a light jacket or two.
I'm bringing extra buckets and hammers for the folks flying in but if anyone else has extras please bring them if you can.
I'll bring some lawn chairs but we'll probably need more, so If anyone can bring lawn chairs, that would be great.
Any more thoughts or suggestions?
Dan
