Hello, everyone!
I already posted my idea of a tree contest and found out many of you would like to participate. Thank you everyone for your enthusiasm and I'm waiting more of you to join
So, here is the "official" contest page, where I will try to put together the requirements and the list of participants. I would update this list when needed.
The list will contain the names of the participants together with the number of leaves they would like to throw in the contest.
I remind you that the minimum number of leaves should be 2, but more of them (even number) are very welcome.
The leaves might be green but if you want to participate and do not have any green rocks it's OK, some yellow/brown/orange leaves would also look good on the tree.
Here's the shape that I'm kindly asking you to follow, not exactly but at least basically.
UPDATE:
here are the first leaves I've made. They are bigger than the maximum 15 mm, they are about 20 mm but I think they still look small enough for a 25...30 cm tall tree
The leaves could be either cabbed (both sides polished) or tumbled.
You are kindly asked to sign every leaf on one side, I think this way the tree would be more special
I also remind you that the best way to send me those leaves is to send your small pack locally to one of the members (Titania already offered herself to be the person who will gather the US and Canada leaves and will send them to me). Another great idea that appeared during the preliminary talks was that each of you to add one or two dollars in your box in order to diminish the expenses of Titania.
OK, here's the growing (hopefully) list - if "?" is near your name, please specify the number of leaves you could send*:
StevenHolmes - 2 at least
Sitnwrap - 2 at least
Bejewelme - 2
Northshore Rocks - 2
Bwachick - 2

Ralph (stonesthatrock) - 2
Tigger (Tonja) - 2
Mikes - 8
Jack (Yorkshire) - 2
* If a friend of yours is not able or doesn't have the time to make some leaves, it's OK if you donate some leaves (2 at least) in the name of that friend and this way he/she could join the fun of the contest, too
Come on, make this list grow longer and longer, folks!
I remind you that after I will make the trees, one of them will be the subject of a "name it" contest where only the leaves' doners will participate
Thank you for reading and for joining the fun,
Adrian
PS. You can decide to join the contest until the end of February (I set this long term to allow the members that use rotary tumblers to be able to join). Being such a long term contest, I kindly ask our Admins (Mark and John - who, by the way, are also invited to join) to stick this thread. Please also lock the other thread about this contest. Thanks again.
